The grinder works well, though it only has five settings. The hot-water dripper is solid too. I do wish it had a thermometer, but for this price I can’t complain. The carrying case is pretty bulky, so I probably won’t use it since I’m not buying this for travel. I mainly chose it because it was the cheapest full set. The silicone V-funnel is great—it heats up quickly and rinses the filter well. It even comes with a brush for cleaning the grinder. The paper filters, though, are low quality and drain a bit too fast, so extraction isn’t fully even. They’re cheap to replace, so I’d recommend getting better ones on desertcart. I would’ve appreciated detailed specs for each item in the kit to know which filters fit best, but I couldn’t find that info. Review: I made the scary decision to ditch my coffeemaker and try this method and I can never go back! From the very first cup it was love. I worried my morning routine wouldn’t mesh with this set, but it has been seamless and I have all my best thoughts for the day while doing the pour over…it is oddly calming and the reward is the amazing coffee I get to enjoy. I don’t think I have ever enjoyed coffee more. For this particular set you do need a way to boil water. I like that the filter can be used with or without paper filters. The carafe holds a pretty good amount of coffee too. The timer is easy to set. If you are routinely grinding your own coffee, I would suggest a more substantial grinder, just for durability.
