The Boston Ivy is a strong deciduous climber that is self-clinging and very easy to grow. Its lobed leaves are a bright green during spring and summer and will then turn to an impressive display of reds and purples during autumn, until they finally fall. Capable of growing in excess of 15m high, Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Veitchii' is vigorous in its growth but requires little or no maintenance, with only the occasional cutting back to keep it within its required area. Grow in any fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or deep to partial shade. Train the stems onto sturdy wires attached to walls and fences. s will give their best autumn colour in a slightly shaded position.
