TP-LINK TL-PA4010P 2-Pack Powerline Network Adapter Kit

After I got this device, it found it has UK plug, in Canada it can not be used.

I purchased the 2-Port 600mbps Passthrough Powerline kit and it has greatly enhanced my home network connectivity range. The powerline adaptors give me a reliable and convenient solution for extending the network connection throughout my house. Pros: Easy Setup: The powerline kit is wonderfully easy to set up. You simply plug one adapter into a power outlet close to your router and connect the adaptor via an Ethernet cable. The second adaptor goes into a power socket in the desired room and again using an ethernet cable connect to your device. There is no complicated setting up or wiring, you simply plug and go. I've had mine running for a while now and the connection is fast and Stable. The powerline adaptors cleverly utilise the electric circuits in your home to extend the internet network. This creates a strong and steady connection, ideal for my internet needs such as online gaming and streaming TV. Socket outlets are a premium in my house so it was important not to lose the only one close to the TV and Xbox, so I opted for the pass through adaptors, this allows you to use the power outlet for other devices without sacrificing an available socket. The adaptors are both the same so it doesn't matter which one goes where, they both have the same pass through so you don't lose the use of a socket and each have a single Ethernet port, this allows you to connect a single device or you can add a multi port ethernet box which are inexpensive and work well, this will provide extra flexibility for connecting multiple devices, such as gaming consoles, smart TVs, and computers. The adaptors have green led lights showing that power is on and network is ok which is handy, plus they aren't too bright in the bedroom. Cons: Need to be on the same circuit to work. So if you want to use it in the shed or your upstairs sockets are on a different one to downstairs then it won't work. The longer the circuit then the effectiveness of the adaptor may diminish but in a standard house is not an issue. Overall, the 600mbps Passthrough Powerline Adaptors are a solid reliable solution for extending network connectivity throughout your home. With its easy plug and go setup, solid connection, passthrough outlet, and god Ethernet speed it's an easy option for improving network reach. I would recommend these as a great addition to any home network.

My router is in the ground floor living room and my study is in a first floor room, so I wanted both an extension of the Ethernet connection upstairs and a stronger wifi signal to the first floor and second floor loft room. The Powerline with wifi extension offered a quicker, cheaper and less messy option than running an Ethernet cable from the router to the upstairs floors. Separating and using the 2.4 GHz wifi did help to extend the wifi stability in parts of the house that are far from the router, and Sky's router is better than Virgin Media for that, but the gains were relatively marginal. As an efffective extension of the Ethernet, the product is excellent. The Ethernet broadband upload/download speed in the study is the same as at the router (17/1 MBps, vs the 6/1 MBps max on wifi, and the device was quick and easy to set up (took five minutes) and the pass-through plug facility is very useful. However, it does not broadcast wifi, contrary to what I was expecting. There are several products with similar names (and with/without pass-through plugs, with/without wifi rebroadcast, etc), in same/mixed packs of one, two and three devices, so take care to order exactly what you want/need. I was concerned when the installation guide said that the (two) TP Link devices needed to be on the same electrical circuit because my plugs upstairs/downstairs are on different circuit breakers, but as long as your circuits are on the same circuit board, that should not be a problem. Instead of sending the product back, I have decided to keep it and use the second device in the study for my desktop PC or laptop, and to buy a third, wifi-broadcast unit (TP-Link TL-WPA4220 2-Port Add-On Powerline Adapter, Range Extender, Broadband/WiFi Extender, WiFi Booster/Hotspot, No Configuration Required, UK Plug) as a wifi booster in the upstairs bedroom/loft; that also has two Ethernet ports that I can use to connect my laptop. Amazon is sold out so I got it from Maplin online.

This product has fixed my terribly inconsistent wifi while gaming, I always lag while playing fifa (fc) and this has made it so I have zero lag and constant 16 ping with zero packet loss, this will not increase your WiFi’s mbps so if you run a test on your ps or Xbox it will stay the same as it was but it will 100 percent fix any lag issues you have

These used to be difficult to instal - previously you had to jump through hoops to pair them. Now it is so easy it’s unbelievable. I had these up and running in less than five minutes. Child’s play to use and very good quality.
