If I set it in a cross-legged yoga pose, will it just return to normal, or even break?

It definitely won't break - this toy is pretty flexible. However, if you were to set in a sitting pose, the toy would return to normal and possible fall over backwards.

Can it go into a aquarium?

No nothing should ever go in an aquarium unless it's approved to do so the chemicals in the plastics leech into the water and you will have a sick tank. But I bought it for my daughter's boyfriend and she stole it from him. They loved the little guy. You could put it behind the glass of the tank so he's looking in
