Insta360 X5 Foldable Utility Handle

Used this on a recent snorkling tour in Tahiti. I can't understand all the negative reviews regarding fit. It fits my X5 perfectly. Yes, of course it's snug, but it would not work properly if this were not true. I was able to open it without any unreasonable effort or fuss, even when wet. It is a great idea and great product, well-made. I am happy I purchased it, and would do do again. Highly recommended.

Materials and build quality seem good, and the "idea" of it is good, but... TERRIBLE design. Lenses rub against case every time you open and close, and even once the camera is in place the lenses aren't centered into the cutouts for them. The instructions specifically say to clean the case each time before use TO AVOID DAMAGE TO THE LENSES, yet the case is intended to be slipped into a pocket, backpack pouch, etc, where dust and such will easily get into it, then get rubbed against the lenses with no way to avoid it. Cool concept, but terrible design. The latch only locks the camera in place when extended. It remains unlatched when closed, with the camera pedestal loose and unsecured, relying on FRICTION AGAINST the fragile lenses to keep it from flipping out into position. In my photos, you can see that even after cleaning there will be small specks of lint, dust, etc that could potentially damage the lenses. Imagine what it would look like after even a short time in a pocket, etc. Serious design failure in my opinion. I was looking forward to a very useful addition to my kit, but instead it was immediately returned for refund.

This thing is genius. I loved its usability. Traveled through all the central Florida fun parks with it and easily captured all the memories while protecting the camera. I knockoff one star to say that I wish there was a tiny slot for pushing the camera out of the case instead of having to pull it. Very difficult/impossible to open when wet or with wet hands. Otherwise great investment!

I wanted to like this and I wanted to keep it but the one thing keeping me from keeping it was the fact that there is no tripod base on the handle so you can't flip it out attached to a selfie stick so to speak it's also quite stiff, but I imagining that would loosen up if you kept it and worked it worked it worked it

Love this handle for my 360. I was able to strap it to my wrist and flip out the camera easy and quick. The rubber sides do grip the camera well and won't let it accidentally fold out. Great accessory for on the go. I do wish I could some add a selfie stick with out having to unscrew thre camera from the handle but otherwise great on the go handle and protector for your camera

This case does indeed hold the x5 snugly inside, way TOO snugly to be useful. There is no way to push it out (say with a button on the reverse side) from its tight embrace. The only possible means is to aggressively pinch the body of the x5, necessarily including the edge of the glass screen, and wiggle it out using both hands, IF you can get a grip. I mostly could not and had to resort to prying it out using a small jeweler’s screwdriver. Impossible with gloves, or cold/damp fingers, or in my case normal-size fingers. Other reviewers have noted that the naked lenses rub forcefully against the case with each insertion and removal, so that’s reason enough to be concerned about causing micro scratches each time. The original soft-cloth zipper pouch that came with the x5 originally looks to remain the superior way to travel with the excellent camera.

Love this handle, it is great for quick access to my camera while still protecting the lens.
