The tree is good but the chemical smell has not gone even after month of keeping it out

I was so surprised when my 6 week old kitten took to climbing this cat tree almost immediately. Must be survival instinct to get off the ground. She dug in with her little claws and was laying on the top bed in no time. It quickly became her favorite place. I had to have those lethal claws trimmed and was concerned it would hinder her climbing but it only slowed her down a little. Assembly was fairly easy taking a little over a hour for one person. Instructions were also easy to follow and it is very sturdy. The scratching posts get used frequently and help keep her from damaging the furniture. It is a good height for 8 foot ceilings and can easily be moved. I don’t lift it but it slides easily doing no damage to floors. I think it would small for very large cats. The strap to attach it to the wall for extra stability is a great option but I didn’t need it. Maybe for multiple cats. It is true to item description and the color is as pictured. It arrived with all pieces in the box for easy assembly and on time. An excellent and much used purchase for the price.

Once assembled, this cat tree turned out taller than expected and gives the cat plenty of vertical space to climb and move between levels. My cat uses all the different platforms throughout the day, but she especially likes the highest level, where she can sit and look out the window at birds and whatever is going on outside. The multi-level design is probably the best part of it. She naturally moves from one platform to another instead of just staying in one spot, so it actually feels like she uses the full structure. The only issue I ran into during setup was the final step. Everything else went together fine, but the screw for the top platform didn't line up properly with the hole, so I couldn't secure that last piece as intended. I left that section off to keep the structure stable and safe. Aside from that, the rest of the tower feels solid once assembled, and it's been used regularly without any issues.
