Grows fast, good coverage.
Home owner here. 1 acre back yard in Tennessee, just absolute clay and rock. The home builders threw down the generic seed and straw, but it never took leaving a barren dirt back yard. I was very skeptic of any grass seed doing well. I tilled the dirt about 6" deep, and tilled in some cheap fill dirt albeit less rocky and clay than the natural dirt. Broadcast spread this Lesco seed in 1 afternoon, watered it each evening (although many recommend 2x a day), and it sprouted green within 5 (five) days. At first I could barely make out the sprouts, but then within the 10-day mark I had 2" growth. 4 weeks in now - I have a good 5". May be related to my soil, but this grass seems very fragile compared to the native Bluegrass in the area. It seems very thin, but hoping after winter and spring it will thicken and strengthen. Very good product and cost for the result. Don't waster your money on big name's $25-50 per bag, many contain mostly fillers such as fertilizer not seed).

Great Grass Seed
This was my first year using it and I was very pleased. Probably used it on 25% of yard ( to replace dead grass from the very hot summer ). On most of area I had thin layer of topsoil coving it but also used it in several areas by just raking up soil & dead grass, spreading seed, and then re-raking. Of course the top soil covered areas grew in thickest but other areas did fine ( took about 10 days longer ). Had minor amount of weeds ( a broadleaf type ) that died when weed killer applied to the small isolated spots. Grass came in very thick and green this fall. Tbd on heat resistance but lawn is looking fine now.

Great seed
We are about 2 weeks out from when we aerated and spread seed. We have so much new growth!! It looks so good! Seems to be coming in thick. Nice rich green color.

baby grass at day 11 in zone 7
Maryland Zone 7 results: April 10: seeding ( first 5 lbs ) / April 17 2nd seeding / April 21: first baby grass / April 30: larger, wider blades of older grass I did a complete overhaul of 1600 square feet of my front lawn with a blank slate of about 3 inches of new topsoil and compost and 5 lbs of this seed. At Day 7-8, I started to worry if the seed was bad because I wouldn't have enough spring weather left to restart if nothing happened after 3 weeks. So I threw down another 4 lbs and a ton of blue coated rapid grass that expired in 2023 that I forgot I had. I also did a coffee filter germination test of this seed and the expired blue seed and the germination rate of the new seed was at least twice as much. So I'm confident that the original 5 lbs of seed is what I'm seeing beginning to mature now. I hope it actually is Lesco transition; seed ranch sells the 50 lb bag so I guess they just repacked in smaller quantities.

The Best Grass Seeds for a Beginner!
The Lesco Transition Pro Grass Seeds is a remarkable product! The seed started germinating in less than a week and showing signs of a healthy growth in some spots. I've also seen the final product in two customers front lawn. The grass is beautiful and healthy looking- no bald spots. I can give this product a strong 5 and will share with family, friends and others how well it repairs a poorly kept yard. Thank you.

Bad quality seeds
This is the second year to use this seeds. Lats year was perfect which was given from a vendor friend., so I bought myself this year. It is bad: very much less germinated so leaving many open spaces; plus the young grass germinated is very very thin and weak,, plus took longer time (> 2 weeks) to germinated. (see attached photos). Unfortunately, I used them all and now only have an empty bag. I even pruchsed and used the Starter from this vendor. So I request refund for both seeds and Starter please. Thanks

Does not grow everywhere
I was so excited to seed this grass since my husband said it was the best out there. We have shaded and full sun areas in our yard, and though we seeded heavily in patchy areas, it did not grow in the sun areas, and if it did, there was a single blade here and a single blade there. It will produce thick and well in the shade, but it is not good for full sun areas. So disappointed to spend so much money and look at nothing but brown patches where I had hoped this transition blend would fill.

quick germination.
Had sprouts after 5 days. I used a starter fert with it but so far seems to be really good seed. I hope it will survive the summer, I plan to water it thoroughly.
