Men's Easy Reader Watch 38mm

BF loved the watch face, but we absolutely hate the band. The metal clasp system on the band is a huge pain in the a-- to work and secure on the wrist. We will be purchasing a new band because it is a huge hassle and takes a lot more time than necessary to put the watch on. Other than the band the watch is just the right size for a man. The watch is minimalist stylish and super easy to see.

It's an excellent watch; it stands out even in low light, even without turning on the Indiglo light. I had no problems with the strap, which is a minor detail, as the watch offers excellent value for money. The watch has withstood bumps and drops well so far.

Let’s get the givens out of the way. This is the best value watch you can buy. Period. It’s durable. Impossible to scratch. More water resistant than advertised. Keeps time. Multi year battery life. Looks more expensive than it is. This model specifically: Watch face is great. I liked the pearlescent white of the 36mm version with red second hand more. This is just flat white but classy and well made. The “one time fit” band tho… Jesus Christ it’s the dumbest design I’ve ever seen. There’s a metal clasp that folds out and in to secure the watch onto your wrist. So you only “have to set the size once”. Sounds efficient. It’s a mess. You still have to thread the strap through the loops every time you do it? Between the awkward folding and loops, it literally takes more time. And then a thick off center metal bar digging into your bone and causing the watch to bulge. Just dumb. Easy to replace the band, but I still can’t stress enough to timex how dumb that design is. It only works for linked bands that are of a set diameter. Ended up cutting the extra part of the strap off along with the leather loops while waiting for new band to come in.

The band is miss representative will not stay latched it is a piece of junk so many things I ordered from Amazon are like that they don't show you the pictures of the junkie parts

I purchased this Timex used but advertised in original box and "looks and functions" like new! Not so. I opened the crumpled box to find a watch w/a defective strap----it was cut and I am not talking a little cut! I would call this an untruth. The watch head looked new and the watch kept accurate time so I kept the watch but only after letting Amazon and Timex know what transpired. I got NO offer of satisfaction from either----Amazon did not respond to my request to simply swap out straps. I bought one on my own and replaced it. So much for their used but like new!!!!! I am sorely disappointed in Amazon! I thought they cared about customer service----apparently they don't and that will simply result in less purchases there from me. As for Timex, I'll never buy another since they simply did not respond. I guess it pays to spend more money from RELIABLE sellers/manufacturers. Buyer beware of both Amazon and Timex!

I have 6.75 inch wrist and I purchased the 38mm version of this Timex Easy Reader watch. I think it's perfect. It's definitely a good looking, timeless style with large enough numbers to easily read but not so large it looks ridiculous. The Indiglo feature is always a favorite of mine on all the watches in my collection. The only thing I would do differently on this particular watch is to make the date window and number as large as the rest of the numbers on the face. The date is VERY TINY and fairly difficult to read. This is not a deal breaker, of course, but it's a shame that on a watch geared toward people who don't want to squint or use a magnifier to see the time, they didn't make the date match the rest of the readable features. For the price though, it's hard to complain because it's a Timex quality watch that looks beautiful and wears very nicely with business or casual wear. Definitely happy with my purchase and highly recommend.

This is a great default watch for me. It goes with just about everything in my wardrobe, and its clear face has large, crisp numbers, a feature that will become invaluable as I get older and my eyesight worsens. My review is for the 38mm Brown/Gold-Tone/Cream version of the Easy Reader. The band is comfortable, and conforms well to even my skinny wrists. The closing mechanism could use some refinement, however. The hinges are held closed by a small metal snap that isn't particularly effective. This can cause the watch to unsnap at the 2 hinge points if you get your watch snagged on something and the watch can fall off. The best way I've found to address this is to make sure one of the 2 smaller leather bands loops underneath one of the metal hinge pieces. I haven't had the watch come undone since using this trick. The illumination is really bright and clear, without being glaring or distracting when used in, say, a movie theater.

Like the watch. I really like its simplistic design and use with anything anywhere model design. One gripe or request for improvement I would make is the strap and the back case cover. The case cover has sharper edged corners and can iritate the skin a bit, at least with the one-time adjustment strap option. Too much metal on that strap, so if you have the option, pick a different strap. Will have to change the strap of the watch. But the watch itself is as advertised.

Great legibility and indiglo function. However the buckle needs a bit getting used to and isn't the most intuitive.

Inexpensive but good quality with large number face. Easy to see.
