High quality, elegant looking mirror with the perfect amount of magnification (5x) and LED lighting. Sturdy design...you can tell it's well built. Installation is not for the novice; you will need to have basic electrical wiring experience especially if you don't already have an outlet box installed. We opted for the hard-wired version for a cleaner, no wires showing look. If you already have an outlet box, then the installation is fairly easy but two people is highly recommend for the job to get the install height correct and to hold the mirror while you connect the wires.

I have owned Zadro (higher-end) makeup mirrors for 20+ years. When I built this house, I even had an outlet put in on my bathroom mirror for my makeup mirror. Four years ago, I had to replace my Zadro. I replaced it with another $250 Zadro mirror that never quite worked right. It was thick, and I couldn't even do my makeup sitting down in my vanity. It just didn't rotate correctly to where I could see. So anyway, this new mirror came in today and I mounted it. Easy peasy mounting when you're already prepared for a makeup mirror. It's so much thinner and more elegant looking. Even though it is a 5X where my Zadro was a 10x, I can see just fine in it. Also, it rotates perfectly so that I can sit in my chair and do my makeup. Awesome. Love it One thing though. The two screws that are required to mount it to the power box were not included in the package. I had to scrounge around and find some in my stash. But I was able to and it went fine. Would be great if they would include those.

The first time I ordered this product, it arrived broken. The mirror was detached from the frame. Hubs and I tried to repair, to no avail. So we asked for another one to be sent. It arrived just fine. I have to say, this thing is a PITA to install. The little box where the wires go and the tinier screws to hold the unit to the wall were a real challenge. Thank goodness the hubs is an aircraft mechanic, so he could work those itty bitty screws in by feel. Be sure the arm of the mirror is at your eye level when you install, because there are limited verticals-axis adjustments after install. That said, I LOVE this mirror. I saw a nicer version at the Boar's Head hotel in Charlottesville, VA. I Just had to have one at home. This model is the closest I could find. The lighting is good (although I would prefer a warmer color LED...I think these are in the 4000 range so they are pretty blue). The magnification is just right for makeup application (I don't wear glasses); I can find and pluck those little old lady hairs much easier now. At first the hubs got a touch of vertigo when he walked by the mirror. Now, several months later he is used to it and doesn't even notice it.

We bought this as a gift for my father for father's day. My mom and I installed it and the cords were not long enough to run it down to the outlet that was only about 5 inches below it. We had to rig up new wires to make it work. There is a metal panel on the back that is attached to protect the wires, however we could not get the base to lay flat without taking the screws out of the metal panel. The wires we rigged up were too bulky. BUT... Once we installed, it the mirror is really awesome! The lights are super bright and you can really see EVERY SINGLE blemish... haha! Its great for my dad whose eyes are going bad. The whole family uses it because its just so good of a mirror.

My wife loved a make-up mirror that was in a Canadian hotel bathroom. It was a Jerdon Model JRT718, 8.5" diameter and 8X magnification. After reading Jerdon mirror reviews, and based on her experience with the hotel mirror, I decided to spend the extra money for this brand. The location for our mirror placement was tough for a similar round mirror as space was limited between the wall and a medicine cabinet. Many mirrors, including the Jerdon ones can flip to a 1X magnification, where this one, as well as the one at the hotel, do not do this. The flipping feature adds needed additional space. After researching further, I found this Jerdon mirror, which is only 6.5 inches wide. This mirror is 5X vs. 8X, magnification, where my wife indicated the 5X magnification is perfect. The only difficult part regarding the installation was that a second person is needed to hold the mirror while final electrical connections are made. Not impossible, but I can usually install any light or other electrical fixture myself without additional help. You can go with the plug option to make things simpler.

Overall, I am happy with this mirror. The optical quality of the mirror surface and the magnification are very good. I would have preferred a bushed nickel finish instead of the shiny chrome. But the company was not offering the nickel finish at the time I purchased. So, that is not the fault of the product. I got exactly what I ordered. The reason I only gave this 3 stars is because of the installation. First off, the instructions were not very clear. Although I've done quite a bit of home electrical wiring. So, I should not have needed much in the way of instructions. The biggest problem was that there is no room for the wire connectors inside the rectangular base that mounts to the wall. So, all the connections must be made inside the electrical box INSIDE the wall. That should not be a problem, except the mounting plate that anchors the mirror to the wall completely covers the opening to the electrical box in the wall. So, you must fish the house wiring out of the wall through a small hole in the mounting plate, then make all your connections outside the box, and then push the connectors and wires back through the hole in the plate to get them out of the way before mounting the mirror base to the wall. With such a small hole in the mounting plate It is not possible to visually inspect the wires and connections after pushing them through this small hole to ensure the connections are safe and secure before closing everything up. And all this needs to be done while holding this mirror up with only the 3" of wire coming from the mirror base. It would have been almost impossible without a helper to hold the fragile mirror while making the connections. I think this product would be better if they would redesign the mounting plate to allow better access into the electrical box in the wall. Also, they should have provided longer wires from the mirror base to give you more room for your hands to make all these connections. I had wanted the direct-wire model so we would have a clean-looking installation, with no cords plugging into an outlet. In hindsight, I'm not sure the installation hassle was worth it. If I had to purchase again, I might opt for the model that plugs into an outlet.

This is amazing!!! Took a bit for my husband to instal I didn’t read the reviews or directions before ordering. This was in one of my favorite hotels. So I just ordered it. Thinking it was ran off batteries haha. I highly recommend this, it’s but far the best mirror I’ve ever used.
