Men's Corelite Down Hooded Jacket

I ordered this jacket even though it’s marketed for men (I’m 5'9", 165 lbs.)—and I’m so glad I did. It fits beautifully without feeling bulky or boxy. From what I could find online, Columbia’s men’s jackets tend to be a little slimmer at the hip than average, which turned out to be just right for me. The material is light but warm, making it perfect for cool mornings or layering under a heavier coat in colder weather. It’s comfortable, practical, and looks good too—overall, a great value for the price.

If you are tall and in decent shape, I would not recommend buying this jacket. I am 6ft and weigh about 175lbs and ordered a size L. The jacket fit length wise, but it was extermently wide, as if it was meant for someone my height that was 250lbs+. Sent it right back. Not worth the money if it is going to fit like a big bag.

I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and performance of this jacket. The stitching appears very durable and well-executed, giving me confidence that it will withstand regular use without any issues. It provides excellent warmth, making it perfect for layering during colder months or standing alone on milder, chilly days. It's very comfortable and it feels good against the skin. The fit is true to the size chart. The length is also exactly what I anticipated, enhancing the overall comfort. The best part is its impressive lightweight design. I am amazed that such a feather-light garment can provide such effective warmth. Additionally, the zipper functions flawlessly, gliding smoothly without any of the frustrating sticking problems I've encountered with other similar jackets and materials.

First the sizing, and then some pro's and con's. I'm 6'0" and weight about 195 pounds. I normally wear a large, and that's what I ordered. The large fits well, with room for a layer or two underneath, but without looking baggy. The length is generous, and the sleeves are plenty long enough. The jacket is fairly warm - in fact plenty warm for most of what I do. Especially with that hood. It's not the warmest down jacket out there, but it isn't intended to be. The hood is very nice; and the right size. I have a Big Agnes hooded down jacket and the hood it huge! This hood feels just right, even though it doesn't have any adjustment or drawstring. The jacket will pack into its own pocket like most good quality down jackets, but it's pretty bulky in that pocket. But it can compress a lot more you are packing this in a compression sack. The sleeves are plenty long, but the elastic isn't very tight at the wrists. I'm not sure if this a problem yet, but it did strike me as odd to have the cuffs open like that on this type of jacket. They aren't huge openings, but it was unexpected. I wasn't surprised to see at least one other review commenting on the same thing. I got the "Zing" color because I like orange-ish colored jackets. This color reminds me more of maybe persimmon? My wife likes the color better than I do, so I'm going to have to keep an eye on this.

I was gifted this men’s regular fit Columbia corelight down hooded jacket for review and it’s amazing. Both my kids will need a new jacket for the winter and 1of them really likes this jacket. He said he likes it because it’s not bulky and if it gets really cold he can layer over or under it.This jacket has a hood two zippered pockets on the front and it has 700 fill power. It also has Omni shield, which helps keep the water off of the jacket. It has two interior pockets and two bungee style cords at the bottom to keep the cold out. I love how the zipper zips up all the way up to about your chin. You can probably stick your chin and mouth inside if you get ultra cold jacket also has a little bit of elastic at the wrists, which is good to keep the cold out as well. The side pockets are extremely deep so you can hold a lot of things in them such as your phone keys, headphones. Highly recommend this jacket I got an extra large and that is what my son wears. This is not an oversized fit. I have had some things from Columbia. Well, my son has had some things from Columbia that were a little oversized. This is a regular fit. This is a great jacket. and the zippers are really smooth.

received the jacket without any tags at all. it seem like its been used or refurbished. though the description says its brand new.

This Columbia down jacket is very lightweight and compressible. It's hard for me to give this jacket 5 stars because I own an Eddie Bauer MicroTherm FreeFuse stretch down jacket which I think is one of the best lightweight down jackets on the market. This jacket has a 700 fill power for the down inside the jacket which is mediocre and the baffles are stitched which is totally different from the FreeFuse technology by Eddie Bauer that uses a thermal fusing technique to create baffles without any holes created by the stitching process. This jacket does have YKK zippers which is always a sign of higher quality jackets. This jacket does have a hem drawcord which helps to keep the heat inside and the cold air out. The hood on this jacket can't be cinched down because there's no pull cord. The elastic on the wrist cuffs could be a little more snug for my liking. For reference I'm 6ft-4in tall @ 240lbs and the XXL was a good fit for me.
