Budget/installation friendly drop bars
Old grips were getting worn out. Applied on my 35 year old Diamondback Topanga, work excellent. 3/16 wrench adjustment, they are extremely sturdy and help diversify hand positions as any drop bar style bike does. Don’t mind my hack job on the bar tape.

Great, made my mountain bike into a street bike
Bought one drop bar, sorry I did not buy more. Will buy 4 more for all my other bikes. Yes, they are a little wider, because mountain bike handlebars are wide. I actually might saw off and shorten the handlebar, as I don't do gonzo mountain biking, just dirt roads and very light trails. Right now I just pushed everything inwards to get a narrower feel, without sawing anything off. Works perfect, and I can still get a wider grip, albeit with the drop bar between my fingers. I grew up with road bikes, so I feel at home with this handlebar. It comes in handy especially on uphills, for better position and pull. And of course, on good roads, for speed. Unfortunately, I reflexively search for brakes at the end, where they would be on a road bike drop bar. Will get used to this soon ...

Great product - helps reduce hand numbness
Purchased these for my rigid mountain bike which I use for long distance touring. With the straight bars and bar extensions that I had, my hands were going numb too quickly. Although not perfect, these have helped with the hand numbness tremendously. You do need to practice with these so you can get to your brakes quickly. Pros: Well made Stays in place Can be used with or without handlebar tape, however, tape does make the bars softer. Has different hand positions to help reduce numbness. You can make your own custom configuration - look at the photos submitted by other reviewers. Cons: Too short on the bottom - the part of the bar that goes parallel to the ground should be 2 to 3 inches longer. If this product modeled the traditional road bike handlebar drop a little better, it would be more comfortable. I would take these any day over the traditional bar extensions put onto many mountain bikes. Even though I did not give this product 5 stars (because it can be improved upon), it has been a real hand saver for me.

These are a breeze to install and easy to adjust
These are a breeze to install and easy to adjust. I installed these on my Giant Roam 2 (2017) to have some different hand positions since my hands would numb out after a while. The bike is a total hybrid so it can take on some after market mods like these. It's build is a bit sportier (more road like) than some other hybrids. I installed mine about 2 inches in from the ends of each side of the bar. That's not going to give you an aero road bike situation but it'll allow you to lean forward to climb or crank up a gear on flats. They definitely add a new riding position that feels more like my road bike. I'm currently playing around with the possibility of moving these inboard of the shifters and brakes for more of a road bike feel. They would be about the width of my shoulders in that position which seems pretty optimal on a true road bike. I really like these drop ends since you can play around with the install to meet your requirements. They are pretty comfortable in their out of box form but I wrapped them to match my bike. They take on the bar tape very well. Really cool!

All of the Benefits; None of the Drawbacks
Over the past season, I've converted my downhill Trek (useless in the flat Midwest) into a trail/city bike, and I regularly put 40+ miles on it per day. Unfortunately, I have some arm and back issues, so despite a good fit, I tend to have numbness and back pain issues when I stay in one position for too long. I experimented with a number of wacky handlebars, aero bars, and other ergonomic hacks, but I found each one lacking. Finally, I ditched the expensive and ineffective solutions and picked up a pair of drops and boxer bar ends. I'm almost embarrassed by how well these inexpensive and totally tweakable attachments have proven to be. The ergonomic drops are vastly more comfortable than I'd anticipated, and I set the boxer bar ends up as a kind of aero bar minus the arm rests—perfect for those placid straightaways. What's more, neither option forces me to give up on the raiser bar I rely on for sharp turns and rough terrain. With three distinct hand positions at my disposal, I can comfortably ride all day, without any of the symptoms that regularly ruined my day. Whether I'm bombing downhill or pushing through a climb, the options available to me now let me achieve my all-time best performance.

Excellent drop bar ends!
I love these things! Since I only have a mountain bike, these things make me feel like I have a mountain bike; AND road bike, without the price OR need of extra room! Since I could'nt find anything like them at my local bike shop, I decided to check Amazon, (since they seem to have everything under the sun) and the search returned these! When I got them (after installing them), I rode my bike down to the local bike shop and showed them to the owner. He told me that he had never seen anything like them before! He even showed them to an employee. He has since started looking on Amazon, himself! I get strange looks with them,(admit it, how many mountain bikes do you see with drop bars??) but i'm going to try to add brake levers, so I have brakes going down hills (which can be VERY steep where I live) I'll update my photos AND review when I get that taken care of. I ordered some brake levers for them, BRAKE LEVER ROAD ACTION ALLOY W/EXTENSION and i'm hoping they'll work for me. We'll see! Also, I already have, and will CONTINUE to recommend these to anyone with a mountain bike! UPDATE (12-19-2012): I got the BRAKE LEVER ROAD ACTION ALLOY W/EXTENSION but sadly, was unable to use them. I instead took my bike to my Local Bike Shop, and had them see if they could do anything. Turns out he was able to, (as seen in the pics I put up) as well as cover them with red cork bar tape! That gives them better grip, as they seem to be a tad slippery, otherwise. I still think they're awsome; just more so now!

Okay- depends on what you’re looking for.
They do exactly what they’re marketed to do, but if you’re looking for the same experience using these as you would with full drop bars, this isn’t the product for you. I attached them onto the ends of the flat handles of my commuter bike and added foam bar tape. They were easy to put on and comfortable to hold. But if you’re putting them on flat handles they tend to be far too spread out, and I felt when I was resting my hands on them I was actually increasing my drag. I personally didn't like the look either. If your main concern is getting more comfortable hand positions for long rides, this may work well. But if you’re looking the more aero drop bar experience, these won’t help you much.

Versatile Sturdy extension
I asked Amazon AI if I could turn these upside down and it said definitely not. I ordered them and did it anyway and they work great for helping me sit up straight on my 35 y/o Diamondback mountain back. Stupid AI rofl.

Love them!
These are a great upgrade for my MTB, which I often use for commuting, but never ride off-road. They replace the bar-ends that I never used (except when changing a tire). Great for slogging into a headwind, or cruising on the level with reduced effort, and very comfortable if the bike is already properly set up. I think the designers got the proportions just right. One caution, if you also ride a proper road bike: When you're using these, it becomes even more important to anticipate traffic conditions ahead, and get out of the drops whenever you think it MIGHT be necessary. My first few rides after installing them, I found myself reaching forwards with my fingers for the nonexistent brake levers... and it takes a measurable time to get back onto the tops of the bars. A good bar tape is highly recommended for hand comfort.
