Great Value / Quality Product
Even though this filter really did not come with instructions. I googled the instructions and it was a breeze the water tasted great and I had my water tested and the quality is excellent. I am sorry but I really can't afford to pay Rainsoft $99 dollars for a filter and $125 for the service this is a deal. Also, the company has a website with a link on information on their filters and excellent customer service.

UP DATE. Solid filter. User error, of course.
I had purchased this product for my Rainsoft under-the-counter water filter. When I went to install the filter, I noticed there were no intallation instuctions included with the filter, but it seemed easy enough: unscrew the old filter and screw in the new filter. The Rainsoft filter that was being replaced looked similar, but this new filter had a plastic webbing surrounding the filter. So, I installed the filter and NOTHING. No water was able to filter through the new filter. I left the filtered water "open" for 30 minutes, but no water? So I thought that the plastic webbing might have been just for transport of the filter and was holding the filter material too tight. Again, no instuctions to indicate one way or another, but the current situation was not working. So, I cut some slits in the webbing and reinstallled the filter. It began to work and filtered water began to run through and out the faucet. Three days later, no water flowing. I was tired of this "guessing" how a simple filter should work, so I e-mailed my questions to the company. No response as of ten days. Therefor, I can not recommend this product, or this company, as neither seem to function as advertised. BUYER BEWARE! UPDATE. With the help of the Internet for instructions, I was able to put this filter in place. Works fine. I still believe that the should be better instruction included with the product.

Very good filter for the price
I purchased a Rainsoft system at a thrift store and obviously needed to sterilize it and have a new filter. This fit into perfectly and is providing filtered water that tastes great. I will purchase again.
