This is a lovely kit, it comes with everything you need to start stitching as soon as it arrives. You get a hoop, pre printed fabric, thread, needles, seam ripper, needle threader and scissors. The colour key and chart are easy to follow but the written instructions may be tricky if you are a beginner. As the stitches are clearly named you can go online and find tutorials easily if you are struggling. It does have a few techniques that may just need a bit of practise or a brush up if you are an experienced stitcher. Overall it's a lovely kit and good value for money. There are also instructions on how to finish your embroidery if you wish to use the hoop as a frame.

This DIY embroidery kit (Model No. Cx1406) arrives in a clear, unbranded, Ziploc style bag. Inside, split between two other plastic bags are all the materials and bits of equipment needed to make the kit, along with an instruction sheet The quality of the contents is fairly basic but will get the job done. The scissors especially feel very cheap, and a plastic frame is included rather than a better quality wooden frame. The biggest negative with this kit is the fact that it is definitely not for beginners. The instruction sheet is poorly written and only really suitable for those with some experience of embroidery already. There is a QR code that takes you to a YouTube channel which has multiple videos showing how to make different individual types of stitches, but it doesn’t show other basics such as how to properly attach the fabric to the hoop. Whilst these videos are helpful, what is is not is step-by-step instructions that are beginner would need in order to start embroidery and to create this kit it. It is a bit like showing somebody videos of individual gymnastic moves and then expecting them to be able to immediately perform a competition level floor routine In conclusion, if you have some experience with embroidery, then this is a reasonably priced, nice looking kit. However, you will probably have a more enjoyable experience with it if you have already got good quality scissors, etc. This kit is not as advertised though, as it is most definitely not a kit to be given to beginners. As a result I can only give it a three start “OK” rating

Beautiful kit even a beginner will find easy to follow. It is supplied with everything you need including pattern, threads all neatly sorted, 3 needles, a threader and an unpicker. I decided to start on the centre sunflower. This one is a satin stitch and requires three smaller threads which need to be separated from the 6 they are supplied in. It is a bit tricky going round a circle but once I realised I needed to overlap the threads, making it look more like real overlapping petals, I was away. I’m looking forward to completing it and seeing the finished project.

I used to cross-stitch a lot when I was younger; I found it very relaxing.
