Paige Rogers is a former CIA agent who lost all she treasured seven years ago when her entire team was killed in a covert mission. She blames their leader―Daniel Keary―whom Paige believes betrayed them. Disillusioned and afraid for her life, she disappeared and started a new life as a small-town librarian. But when Keary announces his candidacy for governor of her state, he comes after Paige to ensure that she won't ruin his bid for office. He threatens everything she holds dear, and Paige must choose between the life of hiding that has become her refuge . . . Or risking everything in one last, desperate attempt to right old wrongs. Review: Very Good Book!!!! - At the most fundamental level, a good book must tell an interesting story and have interesting characters. This book has well-developed characters that the reader will actually care about. The words created three-dimensional people with bright and colorful personalities. The story is fast-paced and builds intensity through the completion of the book. My only negative criticism would be the missing denouement after the climax of the story. A few pages of what happens after the excitement would have been appropriate. However, the thought crossed my mind that this is one book in a series, so maybe the author is purposely leaving the reader eagerly anticipating the next book. I thought the religious references were slightly overdone, but I also found the inclusion of such feelings refreshing in a thriller. 99.9% of all of the thrillers that I have read exclude religion from their storyline or the development of the character. This is unrealistic. How can the characters in all these other books face life/death chapter after chapter without uttering a single prayer? I will definitely look for more work by Ms. Mills. Review: Quite good fiction! - I'm a bit disappointed at how many readers gave low reviews for this book on the basis of little more than their criticisms of unabashed and celebrated Christianity being a central theme. A thirty second perusal on the author's desertcart page reveals that she writes Christian fiction - if that is a deal breaker then one should not waste their money! Now. I AM a believer, but even if I was not I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is written as well as any commercial fiction - interesting plot, likable characters, a few really good (though not entirely shocking) twists. The pacing is a little on the slow side but the interesting and believable backstory, which took a fair bit of time to develop, more than makes up for it. That being said, I do believe it was really elevated by the moral message and convictions of the characters - something that is missing in so much modern crime fiction. It was refreshing to see characters relying on more than their awesomeness to get them through struggles, and as a Christian I do fervently agree with the underlying message of the book. I wouldn't do it as a bible study, but for a few afternoons of solid reading "Breach of Trust" was well worth the time. Enjoyable, engaging, and with a better message than much of what is currently being written, I would highly recommend this book to any teen or young adult looking for suspense fiction that wasn't filled with trash.

Another excellent Dianne Mills Book-Kindle Edition
Breach Of Trust was a everything that I expected from Dianne Mills. As a Christian author I knew that it would be cleanly written and would have a great plot to it. Having read books by Dianne Mills before I knew that this one should be as good as the others. Paige Rogers, a librarian is not who most people in the small town in Oklahoma think she is. A former CIA Agent she has now assumed a new identity and left her past behind. Or has she. When she sees a stranger in town she starts doing some checking and finds out all she needs to know. A former agent who she knows has committed murders and betrayed her is now running for Governor and wants Paige on his committee. Somehow she needs to stop him from winning even at the risk of her own life. In the middle of some life changing decisions can she keep her faith and know that God is with her. As a Christian sometimes we have to do things that we know are wrong and should not do. This is how Paige feels at the moment. The characters are great. They all seem to blend together nicely. Nice blend of romance and suspense .If you are a Dianne Mills fan the n you won't want to miss this newest "Call of Duty" series

This is Christian fiction, and I liked it!
I was really saddened by how many people slammed this book and gave it poor ratings just because it is faith-based. Once again the masses are screaming that a book is somehow going to "trick" them into becoming a Christian. Did they even READ the review by Booklist???? I guote: "Breach of Trust is the first book in Mills' faith-based Call of Duty series." Faith-based equals Christian fiction! Also the publisher is Tyndale House, a well known Christian publisher. If people are so terrifed of being "converted" by a book, then perhaps they should learn which publishers are faith-based so they can avoid them. I also noticed that most of the people slamming this book received it for free on their Kindle. So they had no monetary investment, and if they read even a few pages they would know it is Christian fiction so they could stop at that point and delete from their Kindles, so no real time investment. So why the need to slam a book simply because it is Christian?? They said over and over that it was not marked as religious, yet there were obvious signs that it was, which is why I decided to give it a try. I enjoyed the book, found it drew me into the story, couldn't wait to get to the ending. I will be getting the second book in the series, and hope the Christian fiction selection for Kindle continues to grow and thrive!

Amazing Thriller
This book had my attention from start to finish. Likeable characters vs dispicable characters. Fast paced action and plenty of surprises.

A Page Turner
In this suspense-filled novel, Mills wraps in romance, a solid dose of character faith, and more than one plot twist. Paige Rogers is the librarian in a small town in Oklahoma. On the surface, she's a smart, caring, Christian with good friends and the romantic interest of the high school's football coach. Underneath it all is a past no one would have expected. Once a former CIA agent, Paige was living her life in the fast lane until a covert mission went wrong and she nearly died. She was betrayed by their leader, threatened, and forced to start her life over. But new news surfaces about her past and she begins to wonder if her decision was the right one. Now she must confront the past and potentially lose everything she's worked so hard for in her new home. And she's tested to keep safe the ones she loves and unravel the clues that will expose the man behind the betrayal. For my first Diann Mills book, I was impressed with her technique and the seamless flow of the story. It was a quick read and kept me interested.

The good, the bad... and the unbiased
I happened across this book for free during an Amazon promotion. At the time I did not know it was a Christian based fiction, and it was my first experience with one. I was a little surprised to see that this bothered other reviewers, primarily because this is a personality trait of a character and doesn't necessarily reflect one's own belief. As readers of fiction we are always encountering characters that say and do things we would not do ourselves--isn't that one of the things that makes reading interesting and fun? Hopefully this review will be helpful to others with concerns about this type of novel. This is a suspense/mystery type novel, though not terribly tricky or difficult to follow. If you are a lover of surprises and challenging suspense plots, you will probably not enjoy this for much more than a "light read" such as myself. The main character does develop a strong sense of the Christian faith in adulthood, in effort to help cope with personal loss and tragedy. This didn't seem all that unusual to me, as this sort of thing does happen in real life on occasion when people suffer through trauma. At any rate I never felt like the author was trying to force religion upon myself personally, like some of the reviewers mentioned. I was well into the book before I noticed any religious reference by the characters. About halfway through however, the author got a bit carried away and seemed to devote an awful lot of time to the characters' thoughts of prayer. I am sure this was intended to indicate that this is how they dealt with stress as the suspense portion of the story reached a pinnacle, but it was very redundant. She had already laid the foundation of the importance of faith to the characters early on, so the reader could easily infer that in times of duress, the characters would likely be looking for guidance from God. I found myself skimming through a good bit of this for several chapters because it was simply unnecessary and boring. Also, the author threw in a couple of comments by the main character Paige, about her disapproval of others skimpy clothing. This was weird and inconsistent with Paige's personality and personal history, rendering an otherwise likable character a little less believable. Perhaps these are some of the things that bothered other reviewers too and made them feel uncomfortable or offended. Overall this was a light read and not overly suspenseful. It was great for a freebie and would have been enjoyable even at $2-$3. As far as the Christian content, it is a reflection of several of the characters personalities-especially since the story takes place in a small rural community where most of the thinking tends to be along similar lines. Sometimes it is just nice to read something other than what you're used to.

Heart-pounding Suspense!
DiAnn Mills has a gift for heart-pounding, can't-put-it-down suspense! After reading her newest book, Firewall, I decided to go back and read some of her older stories. Breach of Trust from 2010 is a case in point. I started this book yesterday morning and finished it at 3:30 AM today. What a story! Paige Rogers is the sweet librarian in the tiny town of Split Creek, Oklahoma. She bakes delectable treats for the Thursday Senior citizens book club and is a faithful member of the Baptist Church in town. But Paige has a secret. When she gets home, she always checks to make sure her mail is still piled in the exact, haphazard way that she placed it. She checks her kitchen curtain to make sure it hasn't blown to the side. She makes sure the pen she balanced on the corner of her desk hasn't fallen off. Paige is former CIA agent, Mikaela Olsson and for seven years she's been living a lie. Miles Laird is the football coach for Split Creek High School and for most of that time he's been trying to gain Paige's attention. Everyone in town thinks would make a great couple but Paige's secrets are keeping her from letting Miles in until one day, a run-in with a supposed photographer causes her to finally turn to Miles. Daniel Keary is the front-runner in the race for the governor's seat of Oklahoma. Former CIA himself, he appears to stand for everything his conservative constituents want to see. What no one sees is the evil that Keary is capable of. Paige was his former partner and she knows far too much. When she refuses to join his campaign, she places her life and the lives of those she loves in jeopardy. Can she expose Keary's plot before those around her pay the price? If you love heart-pounding suspense, you NEED to read this book!!! I felt like I'd run a marathon when I finished it. Paige's strong faith shines through as she begins to question the methods she used as a CIA operative years ago. When the CIA asks her to come back in order to catch Keary at his own game, she wonders if she can be an operative AND a Christian. This book has a strong Christian thread but is not preachy about it. I highly recommend Breach of Trust!!
