Does this keyboard work direct with usb a to the computer in case you are running a lot of bluetooth accessories ?

Yes it works with cable. To recharge you need to use the usb, but works just on blood tooth if charged.

My pc doesn’t have Bluetooth can a Bluetooth adapter work?

My PC did not have Bluetooth so I purchased a Bluetooth dongle to use with this keypad and it works fine.
