Talisker 57' North / 70cl

Talisker distillery bottling, usual style but everything bigger and better. fantastic. Great cask strength whisky. The best Talisker I have tried!

Very smooth with a smoked favour ,a five star sprit ,worth every penny savour on special occasions Just brilliant try it.

Brought this for my boyfriend for xmas after he had it in a restaurant. He loves it!

Cask strength whiskies (this is 57% which just happens to correspond to the 57 degrees latitude of Skye, hence the name) in my experience need just the tiniest drop of water added to magically help release the complexity of flavour locked in and without which it may taste a bit underdeveloped. My first glass of this even so did taste a little raw still and I didn't feel overly enamoured with it. My second glass however lay (unintentionally) undisturbed for something like twenty minutes before partaking, and the experience was much smoother and mellower, sweet on the tip of the tongue but warming on the palate and with a long finish. So my recommendation is to give it the splash of water, swill around a bit and leave stand for a while before sampling. Personally I wouldn't necessarily go for this again over some of the other Talisker bottlings - for a cask strength it perhaps doesn't have quite the complexity one might expect and it seems deceptively 'light' (note that there's no age statement so it's probably young relative to standard Talisker), but it's still a top class whisky.

Versand: Am Mittwoch Abend ebstellt, am Samstag da - trotz einer Reise quer durch Deutschland. Der Whisky ist absolut top! Leicht getorft, aber nicht unangenehm, und die 57% Alkohol spürt man fast nicht. Was aber nicht zu übermäßigem Genuß verleiten sollte. ABER: an der Versandverpackung darf noch gearbeitet werden! Rundum zwar gut geschützt (Noppenfolie), aber oben und unten NICHTS außer der Geschenkverpackung! Daher hat die Flasche ein wenig Spiel, und schon war der Karton zerrissen! Gut, daß ich noch den Alten habe...

Ich habe Talisker das erste mal online bestellt. Die Flasche ist in der Verpackung unversehrt angekommen. Den Geschmack muss man natürlich mögen - ich finde ihn genial und mag ihn schon seit Jahre. Da man den Talisker nicht immer und überall findet, ist es ein einfacher Weg ihn über Amazon zu bestellen.

Hier gibt es was für Kenner und solche die es werden wollen, sehr starker Whisky was man aber nicht durch brennen auf der Zunge schmeckt. Mann sollte diesen Guten und teuren Tropfen aber aus den richtigen Gläsern (Snifter) genießen. Das einzige was ich zu bemängeln habe ist der Versand wo die Sendung tagelang auf abgeholt und auf dem Weg stand. Erst nach telefonischer Rücksprache wurde mir mitgeteilt das die Flasche auf dem Transport beschädigt wurde und ich dann neu bestellen müsste was ich nicht verstanden habe, aber beim zweiten mal klappte alles zügig.
