Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor

This razor offers two adjustment levels, mild and more efficient. The mild setting (setting 1) is a little too mild for me, while the more efficient setting (setting 2) offers enough blade exposure to get the job done. For comparison, I typically use a Rockwell 6s with plate 4 or 5, or a Merkur Progress on the lower settings. Lightweight, quality Japanese construction (plastic, brass and stainless steel) and affordable. The included Feather Hi Stainless blades are a good compliment as they are very sharp. This razor makes a good travel razor or a good starter razor for someone that is just getting into DE (use setting 1 initially). I'll be trying it with other blades going forward (Personna Prep blades, Gillette Silver Blue, Perma-Sharp Super and Wizamet Super Iridium among others). If you are used to super aggressive razors this razor may be too mild for you, but it has a spot in my rotation, for sure.

I thought for the price it would have a more substantial feel to it. It doesn't feel very sturdy or something that I would expect to hang on to for many years. Other than that it worked. This is the first double edge razor I've owned so I can't compare its performance to others. It does shave and have learned quickly these things will cut you up fast if you are used to just dragging a drugstore blade down your face. Overall impressed with how well it works and am using their Feather blades with it. Great shave and should save me loads over disposables.

Very cheaply made, but gives a excellent shave on setting 2 when paired with a Feather blade. Probably not worth the asking price, but I'm a Feather fan boy.

I bought this lower cost double edge (DE) razor to introduce myself to the product category. I had never used one before and needed an alternative to Gillette products. I will never buy a Gillette product again ever since their insulting anti-male advertisement campaign. Anyway this shaver works great with a Japanese feather blade - super sharp. Loading is a non-issue since I can just open the blade flaps and rinse underneath the blade (easier than clearing my electric). To get to the areas underneath my nose I use a "Dollar Shave Club" razor which also avoids loading by having an open back.My beard is thick and I always had to use two shavers, first an electric, then the standard razor. So the only difference is that I don't use the electric anymore - it always made my face itch and I hated starting with it. I go first to the DE then the standard razor. It works great. I will be purchasing a really nice DE handle in the future, but will stick with the Japanese feather blades. Suck it Gillette!

I really like this razor, but the blade is not quite aggressive enough for me. Love the Feather blades. Use them in all my razors. Razor is hefty which I like. Have to tilt it a little more than normal for a close shave. If you have real tender skin then this razor is probably for you.

The razor was not as sturdy as typical razors. The change in setting did not provide the advertised benefits. Both settings failed to enable me to remove whiskers that advertising suggested they would.

I genuinely love Feather products. I have been using Feather DE blades for well over a decade now and I have never found anything better. I have a few safety razors as well, a couple of Merkur's, an Albatross, and now two Feathers. The other feather I own is an absolutely beautiful work of art. It provides a good, reasonably close shave, even if it is just a little too mild. It is that mildness factor that led me to try this Feather adjustable razor. I was skeptical because its handle is plastic, which means it is very light. Upon trying it, my first impression is that it is indeed very light, making it hard to let the razor work without applying additional pressure to keep the skin in contact. I also noticed how relatively difficult it is to change the adjuster lever. There are only two settings, and you have to twist the collar to open the butterfly pretty far before you can change the degree of the blade bend. This may be fine if you can get away with one setting or the other for your entire shave, but if you are looking for something with greater variability, this is not for you. Ultimately, it's not a 'bad' razor, but I would have expected more for the price. If not in terms of quality materials, at least in the adjustment levels or ease of use. It really just didn't deliver for me, so I'm back to my equivalent cost, which is a non-adjustable Merkur. I will probably consider this Feather as my travel razor so that it will add minimal weight to my bags, and if it were to be damaged, it would not be a significant loss.

Very similar to the Feather Popular, with a beefier handle and two levels of adjustability. The '1' is moderate (a bit more aggressive than my Popular), the '2' is aggressive, maybe useful as a first pass when trying to get rid of a heavy beard. There is no in-between, the adjusting lever snaps/steps between the two positions. The functioning is the same as not fully tightening the Popular - which also changes the angle of the blade. (Similar functionality could be obtained on the Popular by adding a shim or two on top of the blade to avoid leaving the closing mechanism loose - but certainly not as elegant.) Overall a great shaver. (Even if somewhat overpriced at the time I got it.)

Packaging felt premium. Good quality overall. Just hope plastic parts will last.

Avevo il fratello più piccolo con il quale mi son trovato benissimo per molti anni, non ho resistito ad acquistare anche questo modello, stessa leggerezza, stessa delicatezza sul mio viso, stessa sicurezza, mai un taglio né un'abrasione. Un prodotto che a prima vista sembra troppo leggero e troppo "plasticoso", ma tutto rientra nella filosofia della casa e il materiale è comunque di qualità. E' forse un po' caro, ma i risultati sono quelli che contano, e i giapponesi di Feather sono maestri. Nella confezione un pacchetto di dieci lame Feather, e scusatemi se è poco.

Lo utilizo para rasurarme la cabeza. Una vez dejé pasar 10 días, cosa que no recomiendo nada, lo puse en el número 2 y sacó el jale, no diré que fue fácil, pero con el Van Der Hagen que tengo, con 6 días que pasen ya se siente que se atora. Normalmente me rasuro cada 3 o 4 días y se siente bastante bien, la navaja firme y hay bastante espacio para que el pelo pase sin atorarse tanto.

Used a cheap double edged razor for years and always cut myself here and there. This is definately worth spending extra for. Love this brand and their blades
