Electrifying!
I mean firstly let's not forget that if you are not a qualified electrician or a competent person then electrics should be left to the professionals!. If you are confident with the process & working within the laws of yoir respective country then.. this multimeter is a pretty good find, complete with batteries & ready to go this eliminates the need to juggle 2 cables & the device as its nice and compact online design allows you to get on with the task at hand. Using the auto function just adds to the simplicity as it will auto switch between the options when put in contact with the items being tested. All in all this is a great price for a simple & affective product so summing up in the words of Vernon kay! Are you lights on or lights out? (If it's out you probably need this multimeter to get them back on)

HANMATEK Pen Type Digital Multimeter
paid 19 pounds. easy to use, light and handy. quite faithful to the description, pity that it does not detect amperes but only volts. If I have to find a negative side, unfortunately the black tip cannot be removed, all things considered is a good product.

Great tool for quick use but …
This is a good, solidly built tool with easy to use buttons and a decent sized display. The backlight for the display also makes for easy reading in dark corners. The problems are specifically in three areas. 1. The positive tip is too short (even with the cover off) making it difficult for the bulk of the tester to reach recessed terminals. This leads to (2) which is that the “hold” function is almost impossible to use. You cannot simply press the “H” button and go to test, it doesn’t work that way. You have to go to the test item, get the reading and then press the “H” button to get the reading to stay. 3. The torch function is pretty useless as it is too dim (even as an emergency torch). Still have not been able to get the Non-contact tester to work. Would have been nicer to be able to connect/disconnect the negative probe as well. The tool despatched to me had obviously been a returned item as the display was scratched and the battery cover and screw was loose in the case. For the money it is nothing special, but there are few with backlit displays and that was one of the functions I needed.

Inexpensive and useful DVM.
Cheap and working. Limited functionality, but known from description. Thick plastic, expect it will withstand a knock or two. Leads adequate ish, would think twice putting 600v on that and buy another expensive dvm and hv gloves if ever I need that, unless I wanted some excitement. Tested voltage with a reference board and dc voltage and resistance are 0.2% and 0.3% away from the reference. The resistance ref is 0.5% so the dvm is well within the reference tolerance. It is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. So full stars.

A very useful and suitable addition for the DIY or hobby user.
For a professional user this is not really a replacement for a traditional multimeter but it is a very useful addition and is suitable for a DIY or hobby user. It is very well put together, is strong with no sharp edges and the presentation is solid. It comes in a good sized zipped carry case along with its integral negative probe, two batteries and an instruction book. It looks to be built to last. It is well calibrated and accurate and has a wide range of options and types of read. Note it does not measure current. The auto function works very well and does away with the awkward adjustment dial that is found on some pen multimeters. The buttons are well placed and have a firm response and the LCD screen, with bright back light is needed, is easy to read although it can sometimes be at an inconvenient angle resulting from your positioning of the positive probe. The 'hold' reading option helps with this minor issue. The integrated positive probe can be used with or without the cover, depending on ease of access to the touch point, but does not have a total point cover option. The permanently fixed negative probe also has a cover but no total point coverage. I would think that the covers could easily get lost as they are not integrated into the product. The negative probe cable is approximately 1 meter and is pliable and easy to use. For the majority of multimeter tasks the product is very suitable and will work efficiently and well, and for some tasks it will be easier to use than a traditional multimeter. Of great value is the switchable light that illuminates the positive probe area. This is very useful in dark areas such as under the bonnet of a vehicle. The none contact power check is also helpful but the micrometer has to be held very near the area to be checked and the positive probe can restrict the distance from and the approach angle. I use the Hanmatek pen multimeter for my railway modelling hobby and find it very appropriate, easy to use and features such as the probe light are especially useful. It offers excellent value for money to the DIY or hobby users and would make a suitable secondary multimeter for the professional. If I ever needed, I would happily purchase the Hanmatek pen multimeter again.

Great little meter, ignore the negative reviews.
I can't believe that someone said it isn't suitable for novices. It's entirely automatic, with no knobs or dials to turn. You simply turn it on and apply the probes, the meter does the rest. It really can't be any simpler to use! Also, someone complained that the buzzer took too long to sound when doing continuity tests. That's because it has to automatically select what function to use, but it takes a second, if that. Not a problem. So far I have found this to be a great little meter, and the built-in torch feature will be very handy in difficult to see areas. Nice size to pop in your toolbox or pocket, and it runs on AAA batteries which are a lot easier to source than the usual 9v batteries.

OK but not as your main meter
This little meter is light, small and easy to hold, it should really be a favourite for routine rough and ready measurements - especially with its auto-ranging. It is the auto-ranging aspect that most disappoints me. It is a bit slow to decide on a range - or even a function. If you go to do a continuity check then it has to think a bit before it does it. It also has a minimum voltage it will measure (which is less than a volt so doesn't normally matter, but might in some circumstances). At least the meter automatically switches off after a period of idleness which is a great blessing. Reasonable value for the price as a sort of emergency spare.

+ Dank auto/off, keine leere Batterien. - Ohne Tasche. (aber die Aufbewahrung im original Karton finde ich sogar besse, da dieser sich seitlich aufklappen lässt)

Works great, fantastic bargain at $9.00
This is an update after using the meter for 2 weeks. - A fantastic bargain, hard to believe, a well-designed meter. I bought two more. - Automaatic mode works great. It can detect resistance to 20 megohms. Over 20 megs, use the manual resistance selection. Automatic figures out what it is connected to, and displays voltage or current, AC or DC, and resistance. Neat. - I am using lithium batteries. They work great, and will NEVER leak and destroy a nice meter. They have an initial voltage of about 1.8 volts and will remain up for at least 10 years at idle. Negatives: - Resistance display is to 1 ohm, not to 0.1 ohms as stated in the instruction manual. - Does not have the usual diode test function that shows a diode's forward voltage. - Reading a diode in AUTOMATIC mode shows a different resistance in both directions. But select MANUAL ohms, and it shows conduction in only one direction (as expected). So when conneccting actoss a diode, always use MANUAL resistance mode so that it will read infinity in the reverse direction, and a resistance in the forward direction (when the RED lead is on the ANODE side). The resistance value shown has no meaning, but it serves to show the direction of the diode. - The 'DIODE' icon at the top of the display NEVER comes on (except momentarily during power-up). So what is it there for? Maybe it is for a future DIODE mode (that is not available in AUTOMATIC mode) ? - The 20-inch leads are a bit shorter than I like. If longer, they would not fit as easily in the box.
