4 pound Pouring Pot

I purchased this pot to melt wax for candle making. I already owned a similar pot I purchased some years ago for much more money. This pot is just as high quality as the more costly ones. It works well for me in my crafting projects. The plastic handle makes it easy to use while the wax in it melts as it does not burn my hand while also allowing me to control the pot. It is a good size for melting 2 to 3 pounds of wax. I would be hesitant to use much more, but then again I am no pro. Nice product.

I just used this pot for the first time to make candles. I followed a previous poster's info about using an electric frying pan to heat the pot. It worked like a charm! I was careful about the amount of wax I used at first. As I became more confident, I added more. I had no trouble pouring the liquid wax because my pot was never more than half full. The outside bottom does discolor, but it doesn't matter because it doesn't affect the quality of the liquid wax. I'm really happy that I purchased this and didn't try to use something I already have in my kitchen.

I decided to make candles for favors for my upcoming wedding. Keep in mind that I am not crafty and this was a big venture for me. I purchased 2 as I was needing to make 150 4oz mason jar candles and wanted to get them done in a day. The pots worked perfectly!! We considered doing just a cheap pot and throwing it away when we were done. But I was so thankful I decided to purchase these! They heated up quickly and equally. I used soy wax shavings. The spout makes for very easy pouring too!

Perfect for making candles! Melts the (soy) wax evenly and consistently. The pour spout is really helpful! I put this inside of a slightly larger pot to use as a double boiler. That way, I can control the heat better.

Cleans pretty easily and I love how light weight it is. I normally melt one pound of wax each time and it works very well. The reason for 4 stars is because it's too high for me to clip my thermometer on it and be in the melted wax at the same time. When I melt one pound, there's a significant distance between the wax and thermometer. But it's still not too huge of a problem since I can rest the thermometer in the pot and it won't fall in.

I've never renewed old candle wax so I don't have a good reference for comparison. This pot is very thin but I think that's proper for the task. I felt the need to put the pot into a pot of boiling water I don't know if you can apply heat directly. I have gas stove and putting it over open flame seemed unsafe. Putting it into a pot of boiling water worked perfectly. My old candles melted just fine and using a new wick and a recycled glass candle jar and a few drops of essential oil I ended up with a store quality new candle. Very nice.

Simple aluminum container with hard non-metal handle. Exactly what I needed. This is used in a hot water bath. The height keeps water from splashing in and wrecking the candle. It allows making a few candles at a time only having to add dye and scent one time. It keeps the wax from splashing into the burner, starting a fire and burning down the house. Thing is that all of the sellers are selling the same one so the buyer is the key here. This was the best price for one shipped with prime (and 2 day too) and it was shipped on time and arrived when ordered. That is rare these days. Get this one from this seller!

Works great. I think if making larger volumes of melted wax this would be great. We do not melt this large quantiy of wax at one time. I personally like using the the smaller pot as it fits my needs at this time. We are new to candle making and will be ready once we are more comfortable. Pot handle stays cool for pouring. I like this pot. Cleans up wrll.
