Si el volumen 1 de JazzMatazz era bueno, este no se queda atrás. Temas que ya forman parte de lo mejor del repertorio de Guru, que supo rodearse de grandes músicos y voces para elaborar esta maravilla repleta de buen gusto y clase.

ギャングスターのMCであるグールーのソロプロジェクト、JAZZMATAZZ。 この作品は、その第二段。前作が夕暮れなら、今作はネオンライト煌めく夜 を想起させる雰囲気を持っています。 前作の延長線上にありながら、質・ボリューム共に格段にアップしてます。 特筆すべきは二点。まずはドラムへの拘り。 前作も勿論名作ですが、ドラムがやや一本調子な所がありました。 グールーが感覚を掴んだのもあるのでしょう、今作では非常に多彩なビートが 聴き手を楽しませてくれます。スウィング感も断然上がりました。 もう一つは更に豪華になったゲスト陣。ジャズとヒップホップに留まらぬ ブラックミュージックのフルコース、といった趣きです。 注目はフレディ・ハバード、ジャミロクワイ、バハマディア辺りでしょうか。 全体的に女性ボーカルの比重が高まり、ソウルの色合いが濃いですね。 そのためか陶酔感・高揚感がある、プリミティブな空気のある楽曲が多いです。 単にお洒落な感じだけのジャズヒップホップに辟易してる方にこそ手に取ってもらいたい一枚。 タイトルに違わぬリアリティを感じることができるでしょう。 個人的に、ギャングスターよりJAZZMATAZZの方が好みだったりします。
