LOCK & LOCK Airtight Rectangular Tall Food Storage Container 60-oz / 7.61-cup

I have been using Lock n Lock for years. It is really a super product. I have had some of mine for probably 15 years with no problems with the latching or discoloration. They also do not pick up smells!

I purchased this and a few other Lock & Lock pieces after discovering evidence of a mouse in my pantry. I love this size so much I came back to buy three more. It is nice and light and the snap locking lid is secure yet arthritis-friendly. I like that you can clearly see the contents. This size fits the contents of two 12 oz. boxes of smaller pasta (like twists or penne) in this size. I ordered more for pancake mix, sugar etc. This is superior to some old Tupperware banging around in my kitchen. I am now a Lock & Lock convert and will be collecting a lot more.

I’ve purchased other lid locking containers in past and none work as well as Lock n Lock (L&L). My L&L containers work well in refrigerator and freezer. Unlike other brands, the lids snap into place easily. Another great feature is many of the containers differ in height, but are all the same size at the opening so you can grab any lid and it’ll fit if the opening is the same size. Have given away all my other lid locking containers and will use only L&L from now on.

We've had some pantry moths and I've done hours of reading to try to find the best solution for moth-proof food storage. Lock & Lock products are highly recommended. We have some of their round canisters (screw-on lids) already and I really like them and have found them to be airtight, so I'm trying these rectangular containers to achieve better space utilization in the pantry. Regarding the size: Some reviews I read indicated measurements provided for (some) Lock & Lock products are incorrect. This canister is supposed to be 5.9 x 4.3 x 7.3 inches and that's accurate, but it's the measurements of the exterior of the canister, at it's longest/widest points. The depth and & width provided are actually the measurements of the lid, which of course is slightly larger than the actual container in order to fit on top. Also the container is tapered slightly towards the bottom, so while the top lid measures 5.9" wide, the bottom of the container is only about 4.8". Included photos show the 60 oz/7.61 cup container holds an entire box of Nabisco mini-saltine crackers and 4 sleeves of Pepperidge Farm wheat crackers. It would also hold a 1lb box of dry pasta like macaroni or penne. Note that if you're doing this for quick/easy bug-prevention vs aesthetics, and are considering simply placing a pasta box inside this canister, it may not work because of the tapered sides. I haven't used it long enough to know if it's truly moth proof and airtight, but it seems like it's the best option I can find. Taking off a star for the tapered design because it seems like a waste of space.

I bought a bunch of these for keeping bugs out of food. They work well for keeping bugs out of food in buggy New Orleans. Their rectangular shape makes them fit tight together in cabinets. Have not tried them for produce or bread. But, they do keep cereal well and dry items like sugar, rice, beans, etc. Did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews and these seemed like the best value in something air and bug-tight. Have used them for only a month but they appear to be holding up well.

This does not hold over 59 ounces liquid and even then is so full [level with the top edges], one cannot move it without spilling, so if you want 60 ounces, not a good bet for amount or ease of use and no extra room whatsoever [i.e. maybe 1/2 inch give would be nice to allow for angled container, top to bottom]. Measurements provided are also deceptive. My outside measurements taken at the bottom are 4-7/8 inches deep by 3-3/16 inches wide by 6-7/8 inches high without the top [7" with the top on. At the top. outside measures 5-1/4 inches deep, [does not include where the lid overreaches the actual sides - where the snaps are], and 3-3/4 inches wide. I honestly measured ahead of time, looking for the container that would reasonably hold a 4 pound bag of sugar - this will not do so while it is still in the bag, which is what I measured for. The stated depth seemed to be the breaking point, as I needed almost 6 inches - 5.9 seemed okay, but is not due to the difference in measurement and slight decrease as angled from top to bottom. Will look for one with larger measurements but still close to what I need.

These are wonderful containers! After I bought one, I bought 2 more & am now buying a 3rd. They fit perfectly in my kitchen cabinet. I use them for pasta & rice. They are very sturdy & the cover snaps on tight.

1.8L c'est la taille parfaite pour contenir 1kg de farine, que ce soit de froment ou de la farine de seigle intégrale. Les boites sont vraiment étanches et la farine si garde vraiment bien. Les couvercles sont solides et ont une durée de vie correcte. Je suis a 6 boites entre temps.

Boîte alimentaire en plastique rigide de très bonne qualité, de forme rectangulaire verticale, avec un couvercle à quatre clips qui permet de fermer efficacement. C’est ce genre de boîte que je voulais tellement depuis longtemps, contente de les avoir enfin trouvées. 😀
