Sega Genesis Core System 2 - Video Game Console (Renewed)

The unit I received was in excellent condition, it connected right up to my tv and plays games just fine. It was well packaged and delivered on time. I'm very pleased with this purchase and I think this is an excellent option for anyone looking for a genesis

The power cable does not stay snug so it's it's unplayable unless I prop it up on something and even the. It doesn't stay. Haven't even played a game yet can it only shows up of I'm holding the power cord in tightly.

For a 30 year old console, it's absolutely PERFECT. It came clean and in very good working condition. I plugged it in and turned it on, and it plays games with no issues whatsoever. I never had a Sega as a kid and I got ahold of a game I remember playing in the 90s. So i searched around and this was the best price I could find, especially with a money back guarantee and easy return. But I will definitely be keeping it! Very happy with my "new" game console and already ordered more game cartridges for it as well as a brand new second controller!

I was extremely hesitant to purchase. However, was pleased with the packaging quality and how nicely everything was protected during shipping. The pros - clean system, fully functional and cosmetically looks nice. My 1200 In 1 V3 Pro Game Cartridge works well with the system so there have been no issues running games. The cons - AV output cord does not easily fit into back of system and does not feel completely secured. It took a while in getting the cord inserted correctly. You only get a 3-button controller with this system so of course I had to order a new 6 button. Controller that comes with system feels very worn but that isn't a huge issue as I will just replace it. For the money, not a bad purchase but could have been slightly better.

I needed a replacement for my 29-year-old Sega Genesis console which I recently discovered doesn't turn on anymore, so I got this. It has no trouble reading any of my games, even the ones that I thought were broken...turns out my dying console just wasn't able to run most of my games anymore (though I'm pretty sure my Ms. Pac-Man cart really is toast). It runs my games. It turns on without a fight (except when I try to play the aforementioned Ms. Pac-Man). It's also compatible with my current TV, which my old console wasn't, which means I don't need to keep that old TV from the 80's anymore to play my games. If I have to pick a downside, it's that it doesn't come with 6-button controllers, and my old console's controllers don't work anymore, so I still can't play Mortal Kombat.

Let's get the the obvious positives out of the way - This console works. It's a 30-year-old console and it plays as expected. That's wonderful. I just wish that the post came with more pictures, because unless you dig around you won't know exactly what it comes with. For the record, for me it came with a brand-new third-party AC adapter, brand-new third-party AV/RCA cable, an original Sega Genesis 2 and what seems like an original Sega Genesis 2 controller. In my case, the console didn't have any damage but definitely some wear and tear. For example, it seemed the reset button on the console was a little loose. Same goes for the controller, where the d-pad was a bit loose and the buttons felt a little worn out. I will say it falls in the realm of reasonable for such an old console, but I wish that this was written plainly.

Adapter did not fit console, AV cable did not fit console either. Item defective and did not power on with a replacement adapter. Pretty bad outcome overall, thankful for the free return.

It works great! The only thing was the wrong sized power adapter was sent with it, but my son used his Alexa power adapter & it actually worked so if you also receive the wrong size, this could be a quick fix for you too :) Other than that, it has worked perfectly!

Can’t plug AC adapter in the back of the console. Ordered a new adapter thinking it was defective, still can’t plug it in. Sent the console back. Never ordering retro consoles from Amazon again..
