Metaltex 580602010 Cooking Spoon 30 cm Olive Wood

Received with the original label, good sign when you see that with a hint in many languages on using a little olive oil every 'so-often' to keep it in good 'trim', and a beautiful wood graining tells me it was hewn from a solid piece of renewable olive wood block. ( How do I know it's renewable ? Because I did my homework ! ) Somehow with all the 'non-stick' utensils we have, it just still doesn't feel right using a top quality synthetic spatula for doing our mince. ( It doesn't remind me of the way my Mam and Pa would would make it. ) At last I think I've gone back to my childhood good old days with this lovely olive wood spatula ! It 'feels' right ! Oh, and it's good quality, well made, smooth to the touch, been washed with no water staining when it dried, of the right size for adult or small size hands, has a good weight to it and feels like one solid piece, and it might, just might, make us start adding a few more olive wood cooking utensils to our already vast sets of top quality 'non-stick non-scratch' synthetic utensils. We're pleasantly surprised with this and it's already found a home in our kitchen ! Well worth the price ! UPDATE: Almost a year and a half after purchasing this really welcome addition to our kitchen utensils I can now update with a more 'well used' review. This olive hardwood wooden spatula has been carefully kept clean and well-oiled after use each time. It's not hard, just have a container that you can keep a lint free cloth in which is always lightly oiled with olive oil, after washing the spatula and drying leave to dry for a while, then give the spatula a good all over wipe with the olive oil lint free cloth and leave in the container. Et voila ! ( Or as the French say: 'And there you go !' ). My commendation for this item is to call it a 'little gem' ! It's stood the test of time with care and attention, and given back with it's use ! If you've ever read one of my unpaid, un-rewarded open honest reviews you'll know only the 'best of the best' get's called a 'little gem' by me ! 5 Stars !

Needed a spatula that can be used for mixing and turning/flipping food over. I cook a lot of curry and so the spoon has gained some tumeric/yellow colour but other than that it's just a good spoon - sturdy, easy to wash, doesn't carry a smell after cooking, polished/waxed/smooth surface so no wood splinting. Would recommend!

I use this quite often with my ceramic nonstick cookware. It is gentle enough to not damage the ceramic coating, and still useful enough to be an everyday workhorse in the kitchen. And it looks pretty, too!

This is a great purchase. Great quality, good size, really sturdy and just universally useful and stirring, scraping and moving stuff around without worrying about the non stick on the pots or pans.

Lovely quality, we use this every day to replace our metal spatulas to avoid damaging expensive pans. Nice to use because its nice and thin with a fine bevel on the edge and quite easy to clean because of the high quality finish. A family frying favourite !

Having recently purchased a Chinese recipe book by Gok Wan, I have been inspired to purchase a carbon steel wok which required a little time and effort to 'season' so that it remains non-stick. In my quest to find a sutable spatula that would be ideal for stir frying and yet not scratch the surface of my wok, I purchased this Olive wood spatula. Having now used it on several occasions I can confirm that its size, shape and above all, its non-abrasive Olive wood construction is perfect for the task of Chinese cooking and my nicely 'seasoned' wok remains scratch free for future non-stick stir frying. I would also recommend the use of this spatula for any other cookware that has a non-stick surface.

Not used yet as it's part of a present, but sure the recipient will be pleased. Bought to replace his old wooden spatula which has lasted a long time, but is now showing signs of wear to the wood and hence not so hygienic. The new one made from olive wood is smooth and beautifully marked. Time will tell whether stays this way for many years………I am sure it will.

Habe nach schmalen Kochlöffeln gesucht, die NICHT aus Bambus sind, kaum möglich. Andere Kochlöffel sind mir einfach zu dick. Nachdem ich diese in einem Geschäft gesehen habe, gab es sie hier bei Amazon viel günstiger und ich habe zugeschlagen. Habe den Kauf nicht bereut. Zum Umrühren, zum Schaben und auch zum Wenden von Speisen bestens geeignet. Ich imprägniere sie ab und an mit Olivenöl, sehen noch immer super aus.

Très bonne cuillère, mais il a fallu la badigeonner d'huile d'olive, car le bois était trop sec. Je conseille pour les 5, 99 € que j'ai payé à ce moment-là 09/24 pas pour 20€
