THIS BOOK WILL MAKE YOUR BIRTH BETTER. IT IS FOR EVERY WOMAN AND EVERY TYPE OF BIRTH. 'Siobhan manages to completely demystify hypnobirthing, making it accessible and relevant to all women and all births. This book will be a complete game changer and I will be recommending it to mums-to-be from now on' Sarah Turner, author of The Unmumsy MumExpert hypnobirthing teacher and founder of The Positive Birth Company Siobhan Miller has made it her mission to change the way women around the world approach and experience birth. Through her teaching she seeks to educate and empower women - and their birth partners - so that they can enjoy amazing and positive birth experiences, however they choose to bring their babies into the world. In this book, Siobhan debunks common myths about hypnobirthing and explains why she believes it can make every type of birth a better experience - from a water birth at home to an unplanned caesarean in theatre. So, what is hypnobirthing? Essentially, it's a form of antenatal education, an approach to birth that is both evidence-based and logical. Hypnobirthing certainly doesn't involve being hypnotised; instead, it teaches you how your body works on a muscular and hormonal level when in labour and how you can use various relaxation techniques to ensure you are working with your body (rather than against it), making birth more efficient and comfortable.Siobhan's advice and guidance will change your mindset and enable you to navigate your birth with practical tools that ensure you feel calm and in control throughout.By the time you finish this book you'll feel relaxed, capable and genuinely excited about giving birth. Review: Great information! - This was a marvelous book! Very informative and I learned a lot of new information after having two babies 25+ years ago getting ready for my daughter to have a baby. The only thing I didn’t care for was the author minimizing every woman to a neutral gender. Disappointing that the most wonderful miracle that can happen only to a woman is minimized because of a society that cares more not to offend the few while being okay to offend the many. Makes no sense, but the book otherwise is fabulous!! Review: Must buy! - Just finished reading this and it was phenomenal! I have learned so much. This book goes into details of natural births and even tips to prepare for labor in any situation you might go through. It has made me feel more at ease about pregnancy this time around. It has made me feel more confident and comfortable about my own body and choices. Easy to understand and wasn’t expensive. Highly recommend to read if pregnant!

LOVED THIS BOOK
I highly recommend this book to any woman who is pregnant and wants tools to help with preparing to give birth. I spent my whole life being terrified of giving birth and once i become pregnant i really wanted to conquer that fear. I knew there had to be another way of bringing life into this world other then just going into a hospital blindly trusting the system, relying heavily on an epidural and not knowing what the heck was going to happen to me. This book taught me so much about my body, laboring and birth. Learning how to work with my body and not against it. That childbirth is a beautiful and natural gift that woman have that we can embrace. We don’t have to be terrified of it! I also loved how she was super open to whatever you wanted to do for your birth whether go natural or have epidural, she really just took the time to educate you. I ended up having an induction at 38 weeks due to complications with my baby and this book gave me the courage to go into my induction ready to relax and work with my body. I ended up having a very positive induction, my body started to contract on its own (i fully believe this is because of hypnobirthing breathing and relaxation tips) and i labored to 10 cms all on my own. From the beginning of my induction to when i pushed my baby out was only 12 hours. Which is really amazing for an induction! Again i credit this to hypnobirthing and all the tips this book had about embracing birth and working with your body. And of course full credit goes to the Lord Jesus Christ who gave me the grace to endure my birth!!

MIND BLOWING!
Okay the sound of Hypnobirthing to me always sounded so crazy! After speaking with so many woman , (since I work with many of them a day with my profession) I learned that birth can be easy which in America and in American movies we have always been taught birth is a horrible experience that is painful etc. The best way to explain it is that birth doesn’t need to be that painful at all if you understand what your body is doing while your body is preparing for birth. Your body knows how to birth, just like it knows to sweat when your hot and give you goosebumps when your cold etc. American medicine is all about much money they can get out of your birth not what makes your birth better by forcing your body to do something medically. This book blew my mind and (I hate reading so I’m still shocked it got my attention enough to actually read it), but it makes so much sense. It was also a enjoyable read! You won’t regret this book. This book assisted in my outcome of laboring at home (while doing everything I was taught to do and understand). while straightening my hair, i then went to the hospital arrived at 7:18 am and my son was out by 7:51 am. They called me a unicorn but I personally know others who had a birth like this due to Hypnobirthing. Which is why I decided to give it a try! You might think no way, but seriously educate yourself!

Best book for pregnancy and birth
I read this book before my second birth and wow incredible! I have so much to write but it’s nearly impossible to. MY FIRST BIRTH WAS SUPER MEDICATED The next time around I really wanted to try all natural. I read this book and couldn’t find a doula that was a good safe fit for me I ended up telling my husband exactly how to support me with words and all and kept super calm thanks to this book. I had a beautiful peaceful smooth easy and incredible labor and delivery and a beautiful baby boy thank God!!! I will be using these methods again Highly recommend this book

Great read, even for those who have learned hypnobirthing before
Expecting our 5th kid, 3rd homebirth and I figured I'd refresh myself on hypnobirthing since it had been a couple kids ago that I had first done it. I can't recommend this book enough. For first timers and vets. You can never stop learning or relearning these skills and information. Even though some chapters were irrelevant to me like talks about induction or hospital birth, most of it was up my alley and so useful. I loved the style it was written and the voice of the author. I appreciated the breaks at the end of each chapter with a birth story that related to the chapter read. It also hoad such practical ways for husbands/partners to be involved. Again, even though its not our first rodeo it was great to read it again. Couldnt get enough. I'm glad I bought it and remembered how to use these tools during labor. Maybe I'll come back and update once our 5th arrives, in mid November, to see how well I put it to use :) - wife of Freddy

Good but repetitive
This could have been a 100 pager. At times I felt like I was reading the same thing over and over again. The book has good info but too long.

Such a great, non-judgy book with skills that will last a lifetime
As a 38 yr old woman having my first child, I knew I wanted the medical comforts of a hospital birth, but wanted to do it as naturally as possible. I've heard a lot of these types of books really shame anyone who does anything but a homebirth, so I wanted to choose carefully. I can say I'm about 1/3 of the way through the book and know I made the right choice. The author is so non judgemental, fun, real, explores all different options and encourages an open mind because really- we can plan all we want but sometimes the universe has a different plan and medical intervention is needed. She covers techniques to apply to our everyday stressful modern living and my blood pressure has actually gone down since implementing some of the techniques. Such a great read, I highly recommend for others who want a natural and beautiful birth but understand that home birth isnt always the safest option for every women.

Bordering on dangerous advice
I loved the first bits of the book where she talks about birthing positions and breathing techniques but the book VERY quickly, strongly, and consistently becomes anti-medical establishment. Despite some worrying stats. First time mums giving birth at home have twice as high a chance of having negative outcomes but this is glossed over. And time and time again she coaches the audience to question medical advice in favour non-intervention - and not in a neutral or unbiased manner. Example - inductions, she pits “known risks versus supposed benefits”. Ie the risks are real and the benefits are not. Both benefits and risks are real! I dunno…I’m about 2/3 the way through and thinking to junk the book altogether

Bellissimo, pratico e utile.
