A great clock with some gigantic numbers!
I just received this clock and set it up this evening. So far it's great! It comes with two AA batteries so you don't even need to worry about those. When I installed the batteries it started displaying the time, but of course it was wacky time. I pressed the time zone button a couple times to set my time zone (EST) and then put it by a window so it could receive a time signal. Within less than five minutes it had synced with the broadcast radio time signal and it was %100 ready to go! The clock itself is not especially big, maybe 6" tall by 10" wide but boy oh boy does it ever show some big numbers! The time display is so big I can read it from anywhere that the clock is visible. It also shows the date, the day of the week, and the indoor temperature in smaller numbers, which are still pretty darn visible. I like it!

Nice Medium-Large Desk or Wall Clock, Atomic Function Works Well
Clock arrived in great condition. After checking instructions for the less than intuitive way to change time zones and daylight savings status, I set that up and pressed the wave button. Within about five minutes the clock had set date and time accurately. The face is viewable from about 30° above or below plane, but one must be within a fairly narrow angle from left to right to see the segments clearly, otherwise they start "ghosting". I plan to keep it on the top shelf of a desk and may try to adhere lead adhesive weights to the back stand so that it helps level out the angle it sits at to be closer to perpendicular. The lead will help keep it from tipping forward while providing just enough lift. This will make it easier to read while sitting at said desk and still be viewable while standing. UPDATE: After several years of dealing with manual DST changes, and forgetting how it works each half year, I have finally determined (and written down) what works to update DST on this Marathon. It doesn't happen automatically, at least where the clock normally resides. I found that moving it to the other side of the house, in the kitchen near a window, then tapping the WAVE button once, allows it to find the sync signal and update time within about 5 minutes. The antenna strength animation above the 'M' logo (bottom right corner) is two or three bars high vs one bar when trying this in the clock's normal location.

Big Time Display but limited view at wider angles
We bought this display because we needed a clock that is easy to read. Naturally we assumed that bigger is better. Our previous clock was a Skyscan, which had a weak Atomic signal finder. It could never find a GPS signal. After a lot of research for atomic clocks, we settled on this clock because of: 1. Big time display 2. reviews that it had strong signal acquisition capabilities. Pro's and Cons: + Large time display + High quality construction compared to skyscans (feels screwed together well and material quality is higher than skyscan) + strong atomic signal acquisition -field of display is not as great as most LCD screens. Maybe outside a 120 degree angle, the display becomes distorted slightly, making visibility more difficult, but not impossible. Overall, we are pleased with this clock and would buy it again.

A great table clock
I was a little surprised when I opened the padded envelope and I saw the size of the clock. Pleasantly surprised, I might say, because I wanted a relatively bigger clock with large numbers and this clock was exactly that. The set up was straight forward, place the batteries provided into the back slot, set the time zone and find a suitable place in your house that will facilitate satellite reception to get the correct time and date, preferably by a window or on the second floor. By the next day the clock was showing the time and date in big, legible numbers. I cannot say anything about setting the alarm because I will not need that feature. I just wanted a bigger clock that will keep accurate time, show me the date, day of the week and temperature, which this clock does. It has an opening in the back if you wanted to hang it on the wall, or a plastic stand if you want the clock on the table. I'm happy with this item, so far, and will see how it will work over the long haul.

Must Setup Year Before Let Atomic Sync
When I got this atomic clock I was exciting to see how well it worked. It good they provided good AA battery inside the package. Like a typical American I did not read the paper manual. I put in the battery and just waited to let the antenna pickup the signal. It did synced in under an hour and i was happy. The time and date seem to be corrected as it is matching to my atomic Casio watch's time. Next day however, the days were wrong so I remove the battery and reset it. It synced this time much later near midnight as it missed the broadcast of the signal. Finally, I decided to setup the year and date and put the sync button and this time it took it. Well worth spending a little over $25 to $30 for it. I got so tires of my clocks being off by 5 to 8 mins. I highly recommend getting this model if you are in search for an atomic wall clock that is well built and made, tells accurate time by the seconds (atomic), and runs on two AA batteries.

Highly accurate source for setting all other time pieces in the household
Bought this to replace an AC powered clock that used a synchronous motor and the power line frequency to make assumptions about the current time... which tended to slowly drift off every now and then. This unit was trivial to set up, pick up the WWV signal and let it set itself. The one minor quibble is that it would be nice if it were backlit using an LED and slightly larger capacity batteries to allow variable backlighting for easy view in darkness. And that is the only reason it only got 4 stars for readability--nighttime or dim light. The display itself is nice and large and readable from notable distances.

The best Atomic Wall Clock I've found!
I've owned Atomic Clocks since they were first invented 20+ years ago. The first models were expensive, but worked well. I still have one that works, but the LCD is starting to fade. Since that time, I've purchased many, usually from La Crosse. The failure rate is amazing. Often, they will continue to function, but a part of the LCD will fail, the remote temperature unit fails, it's always something. Enter Marathon. Quality has returned to this arena! We own their kitchen timers, their travel alarm clocks, and now their SUPERB wall clocks. Every product I own with the Marathon name seems to exceed my expectations, and this wall clock is no exception. Easy to read from a wide viewing angle, truly self-setting, and a small, thin frame to add to it's elegance. While I can't say how long this clock will last, I can say their track record is excellent. Pay the extra money and buy a well-designed, well-made clock that will last!

Can't see it, I just can't see it.
… The face of the clock, that is. As others have said, if you are not looking straight at the face of the clock, you cannot read it. I didn't think it would be that bad. It is. The viewing cone is only about 15 degrees. See the attached image. I never had any trouble reading the Radio Shack clock this replaced. The one from the Shack was great – easy to read and kept excellent time. But after 10, 15, or maybe 20 years, it just stopped one day. Rats! Otherwise, this Marathon clock set up quickly and synchronized the time much sooner than I expected. I bought the wood grain looking clock. Yeah, it's just plastic, but at a distance it looks fine. I wasn't expecting actual wood. But I was expecting to be able to read it while it hung on my wall. Bleeh!

Excelente reloj, buenos materiales aunque un precio un poco alto..
Excelente reloj, el tamaño de los dígitos es adecuado para la recepción en la oficina. En la Ciudad de México aún no logro sincronizar. Recomendado

Great clock.
Bought this for my kitchen. I love the large digits... very easy to read. The set up was a breeze. Just left it in a window overnight. The next morning I adjusted the time zone to my local zone. It's nice to have an accurate clock that I won't have to adjust in the fall.

Best clock ever!
I’ve had this clock for 3 years now, and it still works perfectly! The initial calibration took me a bit over 2 days, maybe because I didn’t place it in the ideal spot, but since then, it has been keeping time down to the second! The best part is that it automatically switches to daylight saving time every year, and it also measures the room temperature accurately. I’m very satisfied with this clock!

Buena presentación y fácil de usar para quien le guste la tecnología!
Me gustan sus número grandes, aunque las indicaciones no vienen en español y no le encontré donde poner los días en español!
