Awesome little device
Great little device — saved my old memories This floppy drive worked like a charm. I plugged it in, and within seconds I was opening files I hadn’t seen in decades. Smooth, quiet, and surprisingly fast for a floppy reader. I really appreciate that it includes both USB‑A and USB‑C, so it works with everything. If you’ve got old disks lying around, this is the perfect tool to bring them back to life.

Please note!
I bought one of these to help digitize my dad's old floppy disks. My first device was defective (I think possibly due to user error) but the company sent me a new one and it worked flawlessly. You can't find it like a regular drive, you have to go to Devices and Printers area. A few things to note: 1. DO NOT USE THIS WITH A MAC. 2. DO NOT PLUG IN BEFORE PUTTING A FLOPPY INTO THE DRIVE. I believe either of these can damage the device. 5 Stars for great support and a great device (as long as you know how to handle it)

Works as Stated
Works good once you get it all set up, It is a little slow which is noted in the info. But at least it can help recover info on 3-1/2 in floppy disks you may have. if you don't have any other means of downloading them.

Works great!
Worked perfectly with an older Intel processer running Linux Mint. Just what I was looking for. Connected immediately, drivers loaded and data was read from some really old floppies. Nicely portable for future travel.

Nostalgic Idea, Nightmare Reality
I wanted something simple: plug in a floppy drive, read more than one disk, and rescue old files. The Chuanganzhuo CAZED-006 looked promising at a budget price, but in real use it proved fundamentally unreliable and nearly useless. Right out of the box the unit did spin up and show the first disk just fine — that was the only time it worked. After swapping to a second disk (even a perfectly good one), the reader would stubbornly cling to the first disk’s contents, refusing to refresh or recognize new data. The drive effectively becomes a single-disk read-only device, even if you eject the disk and insert another. That’s not a minor annoyance — it defeats the entire purpose of having a floppy reader. This problem persisted across multiple systems I tried, including a completely different PC setup. It wasn’t an isolated USB port or driver issue — the hardware itself just refused to read beyond the first disk. Nothing short of miraculous happened when switching computers. Some product literature suggests you can “refresh” or force a re-read by unplugging the unit and reconnecting it, and some user manuals even coach you on how to manually refresh the drive in File Explorer to see new disk data. In practice, those so-called workarounds are half measures at best — they don’t consistently fix the core problem of switching disks, and they feel like excuses for a design that doesn’t work the way it should. Digging around online, you’ll see mixed signals. On marketplaces there are a handful of positive ratings suggesting the drive works on Windows 10 or handles a batch of floppy disks without issue. But there’s also at least one outright negative review where someone says it “does not work and does not meet the specifications in the description.” That’s exactly the experience I had — anything beyond a single floppy becomes a gamble. To be clear — this is a simple peripheral, not rocket science. A floppy reader shouldn’t need driver hacks or manual refresh tricks just to load a second disk. The fact that this one behaves that way suggests either cheap parts, poor firmware, or sloppy integration between the mechanical reader and the host system. Bottom line: if you need to consistently read a collection of floppy disks and actually retrieve data, this Chuanganzhuo CAZED-006 is not the tool for the job. It functions sporadically at best, and it’s downright useless for everyday legacy data transfer. I’d skip it entirely and look for a more reliable USB floppy solution that doesn’t require so much technical wrangling just to read a second disk.

Works if you know how to attach and detach it relative to when the disk is inserted.
Worked well once I understood how to use it. steps: 1. insert disk into un-powered un-connected device 2. plug device into your computer directly or a powered hub not a passive hub for usb 3. access your files 4. to change disks extract the drive off of USB 5. once disconnected go back to step 1 and repeat. if you are from a time when you remember hot swapping these disks from your computer like me this was initially confusing as to why it would not update. USB makes it behave a bit differently. also I did not have to tell windows to "eject" the disk like you do with USB stick drives. just pull it off of the usb and windows will handle it. For reference, i am on a windows 10 machine.

A trip down memory Lane!
I recently used this Floppy Disk Reader, and I'm thrilled to share my nostalgic experience! As a child of the 80s and 90s, I grew up surrounded by floppy disks, cassette tapes, and VHS recordings. This reader brought back a flood of memories and allowed me to relive cherished moments - thought lost. *Why I love it:* 1. **Nostalgic value**: Seeing those family photos on my screen transported me back to a time when life was simpler. 2. **Easy to use**: The reader was incredibly straightforward, making it simple for me (or anyone) to access and transfer files from old disks to your current computer. 3. **Emotional connection**: Reliving memories through photos and documents brought tears of joy and a sense of closure. It's amazing how these small steps can make such a big impact on our emotional well-being. 4. **Preservation**: This reader not only helped me rediscover lost treasures but also ensured their preservation for future generations. *Real-world applications:* + Preserving family history and memories by recovering photos and documents thought lost from outdated technology. + Revisiting old projects or files from school or work + Bringing back nostalgic value to your digital life + Helping you find lost documents, photos, or data I'm thoroughly impressed with the Floppy Disk Reader. Its ability to bring back cherished moments, ease of use, and emotional connection make it an invaluable tool for anyone looking to relive memories or preserve their family photos and history.

Not reliable enough for my situation. I returtned it.
Really does not seem to work reliably. Yes, we all know that 3½ " floppy are a few decades old now and we can assume many of them have become unreadable. But this drive read maybe 20%. I ran a lot of tests on it. Also. note that this drive needs to be connected directly to a USB port coming out of the pc, not on an extension cable. It was not reliable enough for me. I returned it.

Pretty much plug and play.
Works very well. Better than I expected, considering the age spread in technology.

Incorrect dismounted message displayed.
On occasions the Desk Top displays a message that the item was dismounted incorrectly even though no action was taken to disconnect the drive. A reconnection then takes place. This is disturbing. Ce rain discs take long to display its data even though there is just one file.
