Worthless
I have used lots of different types of print servers in the past, but thought I would try and save a little money. Big mistake. First problem: You have to use Windows to set this up. I don't normally use Windows, but I relented and got it configured and working on DHCP. I could ping it and go to it's web page. I got it all set up to use all the protocols. Second problem: Never got a print job out of it. Had the print server pointing right at it. Jobs sat in the queue and went nowhere. Don't waste your time with the hassle and the aggravation of this product. Just buy an Axis or an HP JetDirect and you will be much better off in the long run.

Good for home use; can't change SNMP community
This product works well as a print server but you can not change the SNMP Community String so any internal IT Audit is going to light up with a Nessus plugin ID 41028 which is rated as a high vulnerability. I didn't test if you could write to the device through snmp but since I can't change the string and we do not use public we decided not to use this and sent it back. We bought a lot of these print servers and tested them all. The only issue with this one was the SNMP string being hard coded to public. Other than that it works great so if you use the community string public or you are at home this will work perfect for you. If you want the most secure device we have tested you will want to search for the TRENDnet 1-Port Parallel Print Server TE100-P1P (White). You can read my review there.

Easy to install and works like a charm
I need to replace an old router with a parallel print server as it had died. I was a little worried reading some of the reviews on this device but it is doing exactly what I want. The included software made it easy to install and change to the static IP I required (I needed to duplicate my old router's IP address). My other PCs were alreay directed to the IP port so I only need to install from one PC. I am using an old HP 722C inkjet and it is working perfectly.

Do not buy
This is a "legacy" product, which means it is outdated even though brand new and won't be supported. Amazon was great and provided me a full refund which is opposite of what Hawking did. Wish I could give the manufacturer a Negative star rating. Do not buy!!

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
Setup documentation is missing fundamentally important points (such as, be sure to disable WindowsXP firewall before installing), their Tech Support doesn't answer the phone, online FAQ is dismally short, and their Customer Service does not answer emailed questions. Other than that, the product worked, once a longer-than-necessary trial and error installation process was over.

Correct Printer Driver - if you want this to work - Windows 10
I have a Windows 10 laptop and had a really old printer. The printer is a type of laser printer (OKI LED). My biggest problem was getting the correct printer driver for it, so looked for the driver in Windows Update (yes, Microsoft Update had it). Fortunately, the printer manufacturer had good documentation for the driver! Several choices for my printer model, but I cannot blame printer server. With the incorrect printer driver (not looking at documentation), it appears the printer server gets hung (I didn't have the patience for it, so I just unplugged it and plugged it back in). In the end, I was surprised to see it print the graphics as well as it did. I am not sure if you really need the software, I will try removing that now. The main thing is getting the default IP address of the print server. The firewall on the installation software does get triggered with the install (I have the latest Windows 10 patches). I would have liked to see the installation package signed with the installation CD as well. I increased the rating after getting on the manufacturer's web site. It turns out the latest firmware was installed. I have added the printer(note did not use installation software this time) on a Surface 3 (Windows 10) as an IP printer. The "hung" device is annoying at first, but I would buy a USB version if I needed it without thinking about it.

Printer I bought it for was not supported
After failing to get it working on my own, I called tech support to find that the product does not support my printer. I returned the item.
