I have tried so many expensive products as a primer. Most of them fail, allowing makeup to highlight pores and fine wrinkles. This one does not disappoint. It goes on a startling shade of black, but after it is absorbed you cannot see it. It makes my skin feel healthy, it is not greasy or thick, it glides on, it magically blocks my pores and fine wrinkles. I ordered several of them because it seems every time I like a product it goes away, ROFL

I gave this 4 stars because the mattifying only last an hour. The shine control is not all day. I hate that... I wish I can find a product that actually do what it says it do and/or claim. It easy to apply. No flakiness. I wish it actually control shine

Why have I not discovered this sooner?! I honestly never thought a product like this would deliver and it has! I reside on the coast with very high humidity. Usually I would blot my face with a tissue a few times but now I only blot at my hairline. My face remains matte even after 12 hrs of wear. I typically use high end make-up but when my face gets oily it completely ruins the look. I'm happy to say that's a problem of the past. How this is not rated 5 stars by others baffles me. This pairs well with NYX Marsh mellow primer to blur pores then apply the shine killer sparingly. I have mature skin, 49 yrs old with small to medium-sized pores.

I have been using this product for a very long time; Amazon said I have purchased it 17 times plus all of the times that I’ve purchased it from the store. It has worked really well for my oily skin and has kept the oil down. Recently, I noticed a change in the primer. For one, it isn’t clear anymore. It’s black from the charcoal added to it. Another thing, my face is starting to dry out from this product. That has never happened before. I can normally put many different products on my face and it doesn’t become dry. However, after using the new formula for about 1 week, I have noticed dry spots throughout my face. I’m hoping they will either go back to the old formula or my face will get over the dryness soon.

Works well. Coverage last for hours

Excellent product at a reasonable price. I have very oily skin and primer is necessary to keep my makeup in tact and not melting within an hour of application, but finding a good primer that lasts and does not cost a fortune is like finding a needle in a haystack. I was not expecting to find it in an NYX product but was pleasantly surprised. First, I love it’s a gel. I’d been using smash box photo finish but found its creamy texture a little heavy . I also had to be careful not to apply too much or it seemed heavy. The NYX primer is so lightweight, spreads easy and a little goes a long way. It does not feel greasy or heavy and it has lasting power. I got through a good portion of the day without any excessive shine or oiliness. Of course with oily skin you can expect to need to blot at some point, but nothing excessive. I applied it after moisturizer before applying foundation. I set with light oil free powder and that’s it. Great results! I really love this product at such an affordable price and will definitely repurchase.

This product is perfect for oily skin. Easy to use and can be used for up to 2 months. It stays on skin for up to 12 hours. Great product!
