The best sound
This snare drum head has the exact sound I wanted for a long time, especially since it doesn't ring at all whatsoever.

Great as a 10 Inch Snare Batter Head for a Popcorn Snare drum!
I have a PDP Concept Maple 10 inch popcorn Snare - Black Wax that I use in my drum Kit /Setup. The original snare head has the coating rubbing off (a Remo Head from PDP was OEM). After researching on line for a replacement, I stumbled upon this Remo Control Sound snare batter head. Ordered it based on the Amazon reviews and feedback. Very glad I did. This head Sound great for this drum. It give off that nice "Crackle" for a popcorn Snare (10 X 6.5). Better than the stock head which did not have the control Sound feature of the Dot in the Middle. And this head is made in the USA, the OEM Remo head was made in China. Highly recommended IMO.

Sounds great!
Been exclusively using Remo "control sound" style heads on my various Gretsch kits since 1969. They sound great. Lots of punch.

The Only Snare Head For My Vintage Drums
I've used the coated control sound snare on my vintage drums for several years now. I play on a 1959 wood Ludwig, and a 1962 wood Slingerland snare with this head. The reverse mylar patch provided the focus and overtone dampening I want when playing with sticks, but the construction of the head along with the Remo coating, allows for the lively resonance i need at lower volumes and with bushes. I've tried a bunch of different heads from Remo and Evans, but always come back to this head for my vintage wood drums. I have one 1970 era, chrome over steel Premier snare that i use an Evans HD Dry on, but that head chokes out my wood drums. I highly recommend this drum head.

Superior quality
Awesome sound with a slight control of the overtones. Remo is the best.

Not For Me
This is a high quality durable head, but sonically it’s just not for me. While the dot definitely adds durability, I just don’t like the sound it produces. It chokes the sound and seems to accentuate overtones if the head is struck outside the dot. For me if I’m prioritizing durability, I would much prefer either a coated vintage Emperor or a coated regular Emperor for a much more pure versatile sound.

A Very Versatile Snare Drum Head
This drum head gives me the sound I want from a snare drum. You can tune this for more or less ring. It's important to note that this is not an overly muffled head. It provides a small amount of muffling. I like this because, the way I see it, you can add muffling with other products if that is what you want, but you cannot really take a dry/muffled head and go the other way. A bonus about these heads is that you can play over the center and have a more "controlled sound" as its name implies. Or, you can play outside of the dot and get more ring if that is the sound you want. This head can be used for just about anything. What I like the most about these heads is the durability. I have played on a very cheap stock head before and broke right through it. I broke a different remo head as well. I have yet to break one of these heads since using them. In fact, I broke a tension rod before even breaking the drum head. I could not ask for a better snare drum head.

Klassiker, alles super!

Quality head as always from remo
good sound and quality. With this coated controlled batter the sound is not too open, good for my small studio room.

Very highly recommended budget head!
Good sound.Very durable for my playing style.Very easy to set up, doesn't take a lot to tune it onto the snare (even if snare wires are broken)Very controlled and deep sound, recommended for heavy breakdowns such as heavy dirty soul by TWPThe ambassador coating fades away easily, but that's not an issue since it's so durable and difficult to actually damage.
