The first fold-your-own starfighters that fly with the Force. It's always great to fold an awesome-looking paper airplane. It's even better to fold one that really and truly flies. Best of all? Folding a flyer that can take down an evil Empire. Introducing Star Wars Folded Flyers, paper starfighters that will speed through your living room as well as they do in outer space. That's because each design has been subject to rigorous testing by the Aerodynamics Team at Klutz Labs. And they look as great as they fly because they're made from full-color, custom-designed papers - representing galactic vehicle exteriors, authentic to the last bolt. With five copies of each design, kids can have a fleet of Y-wings and X-wings at their command. In addition to instructions for starship folding, flying, and tinkering, the book includes descriptions of each flyer - written by the pilots. Darth Vader describes maneuvering the TIE fighter (and what TIE stands for), while Han Solo details the inner workings of the galaxy's most famous interplanetary jalopy, the Millennium Falcon. Altogether, it's a must for Star Wars completists, paper airplane aficionados, and Force fans everywhere. Review: MUST HAVE for a Star Wars Kiddo! - The instructions and color coding on how to fold the ships is so awesome and easy to understand! They did a superb job creating this book. Love that there is multiple of the same ships to make for any jealous siblings or ship casualties. Also two thumbs way up for the “if your ship isn’t flying right adjust this” troubleshooting. This is a MUST have for a Star Wars Kiddo. And the ships fly well too! My son is 8 and could do them himself, but prefers to have my help so it’s more precise. Review: Great fun! - We bought this for our resident 8-year old Star Wars fan, and I will not gloss over the fact that making these flyers, at least for him, requires the active "assistance" of an older person. In reality, that means that I am the actual one making the flyer and that my son is the assistant (he's in charge of cutting and the dispensing of tape, as needed). So, you ask, Why should I get this for my kid? Simply put, it's a great way to spend some one-on-one time with your kid, that doesn't actually involve staring at a TV screen or playing video games. Sure, at first, I inwardly grumbled to myself about having yet another thing to do, in addition to my normal parent/family job. However, once we got going on the first flyer (X-wing), we became really absorbed in it through making sure the folds were just right, the cuts were just so, and that the tape went on the right spot, all the while with each flyer my son is learning to hold back and wait for his job, and for some of the easier folds, he actually gets to do those, too. He looks to me with a degree of admiration, not that I was seeking that, for having helped him make these really cool flyers to aid in the creation of his own Star Wars battles, and the beauty of it is that we have another tool to bond closer together. The Basics: Star Wars Folded Flyers is not origami, although, as the name indicates, folding is involved, as well as cutting and taping. The instructions and graphics are quite clear, and do require close scrutinization for accuracy, otherwise, the planes won't fly very well. Some of the folding, even with the aid of a recommended ruler, requires some hard pressing when folding multiple layers of paper. Accurate cutting skills is also required. There are pages at the back of the book that tear-out, and are imprinted in such a way that they come to look like the ultimate finished ship, and a bonus is that there are more than one of the flyers to make, so that more can be enjoyed as they get bashed flying around, or in case you mess-up on the construction. The end results are some pretty cool paper airplanes to fly around the house.

Gift barely used, but it seems to be a good product.
I thought my grandson (9) would enjoy making these. He has had them for a while, but barely used them. Giving 4 stars as I still think it is a good product. But in this day and age with so many toy options, I misjudged that he would enjoy and play these.

Fun for 6yo
My 6yo loves this book! He is interested in origami lately, and this book is much easier to follow than several others we have tried. I occasionally have to help him with a step or two, but he is fairly independent with it. The ships actually fly well, and they look super cool! the quality of this book has exceeded my expectations.

Great for kids who love Star Wars and can fallow simple instructions
My son suddenly developed a fear of flying in so far as he didn't think something as big and awkward as a jet passenger plane could actually fly. Nevermind the fact that we live close enough to LAX for him to see airplanes taking of and landing at least once a week when we drive past the airport. So I got this book of paper airplanes to see if making a flat sheet of paper fly could change his mind back in time for a decent summer vacation. He's 5 and his sister is 7 and they both loved the paper planes in this book. The star wars designs are pretty cool, and the simpler models they could each fold on their own with a little help from me. The more complicated ones, like the Falcon and TIE Advanced, I ended up doing most of the folding and cutting, but the kids still enjoyed playing with them. As far as my son's fear of flying, I have no idea if the book did the trick or what, but he wants to get on a plane now.
