Elixir Strings, Acoustic Bass Guitar Strings, 80/20 Bronze with NANOWEB Technology, Longest-Lasting Bright Tone with Comfortable Feel, 4-String Set, Long Scale, Light 45-100

These are good strings. The acoustic Ibanez I bought (a AEB5E I love) came with D'Addario's that had good tone but where a bit quiet and dull after 8 months of regular playing. The Elixirs are brighter and a lot louder. When I slap the E string hard I can really make some noise. I can also play mellow and still hear myself. They sound good are a bit metallic but get better once you break them in a bit. There was a certain coolness to the mellow tone of the D'Addario's but I prefer the Elixirs overall. As is always the case with Elixirs they last and sound good forever and stay in tune once you break them in, which helps make their price very reasonable as they last like two or three times as long as other strings. The coating makes sliding good and keep the strings from feeling dry.

Muy bueno para un bajo acústico

The shopaholic husband here! My old strings were dead and left my fingers stinky after playing my bass. I bought these because of the reviews, and I'm glad I did. It has brought new life to my bass, and has inspired my playing. They sound great, feel smooth under my fingers, but best of all... They don't stink!

Put these on my Dean acoustic bass. VERY BRIGHT metallic sound. Took me a bit to get used to them. Certainly had to be a LOT more careful to not buzz on the frets as any string noise is a lot louder. Has a pretty cool sound, though. Not sure I'll buy them again, though as I think I prefer a much more mellow sound. Great quality, smooth to play on, and I can already tell that they are outlasting my last 2 sets.

To me, they have a muted sound. I rely on mid range on my acoustic bass, for separation from the Guitar and drums. To me, these strings started out, sounding like old strings sound. They lasted about the same amount of time as a standard set of bronze wound acoustics (approximately 25 shows) before they began to flake at the pick up area. I do not recommend.

I have used Elixir String on my guitars for years and this is the first time trying them on my acoustic bass. I am very pleased. The tone is great and I've only had them on a short time but I think they will last a long time just like the guitar strings.

Elixir is always a pretty safe bet. I'm a guitarist but I have a bass for when I'm recording ideas and want a "full band" sound. These coated strings stay nice and fresh-sounding for years to come. I always use Elixir on my bass and all my acoustics.

Stanco delle corde che arrugginiscono dopo neanche 1 mese, ho provato queste. Già uso le elixir per il basso elettrico e sono ugualmente molto soddisfatto. Suonano perfettamente e durano 3-4 volte le corde normali. Costano di più ma ne vale la pena. Sono curioso di vedere quanto mi durano, ma penso un bel pò.

私はひどい手汗かきで、練習・本番の後、常に拭いてますが、ひどいときは１日で弦が錆びてしまいます。 この商品はもう３ヶ月まったく錆びません。ギターに比べて高価なベース弦を頻繁にかえるのは負担が大きいので助かってます。

Leider habe ich die Saiten erst nach der Rückgabefrist aufgezogen und festgestellt, dass die A-Saite doppelt vorhanden war. Eine A-Saite in der Verpackung einer E-Saite. Rücksendung nun unmöglich! Da ein Auftritt anstand, musste ich mir einen neuen Satz kaufen. Elixir angeschrieben und keine Antwort erhalten. Schaden ca. 40 €. Danke!
