My heel wont fit into the boot opening

I understand what the buyer is talking about. I had the same problem and I sent them back. They are defective. I probably have 15-pairs of Uggs and these were defective. I couldn’t get my heel in either. The boot had a very small narrow opening and to the Seller a shoe horn wouldn’t have done a damn thing. This still pisses me off. I hope the buyer sent them back. May I suggest buying from Zappos you have 365 days to return, better pricing and I think they are related to Amazon. Anyway Amazon is really going downhill

My wife wears a 10-1/2 shoe. Do these shoes run true to size or need to go up to 11 or down to 10?

I would recommend a size 10 unless she is very wide, in that case I would go up to an 11. You want them to fit snug at first as they will get larger with wear,

Are these waterproof protected with scotchguard?

Not sure about waterproof but they are scotchguarded...this is the new version of the bailey button style & this version is scotchguarded.

With the button ones does it make it wider to get them on.

The button is functional so could be unbuttoned to put it on. I never have but it could be done.
