Should Of Got The Al Stohlman Round Knife A Long Time Ago!!
This knife cuts 8 to 10 ounce leather and really any weight/thickness of leather like steel through butter and right out of the package too!! I continue to be highly impressed with the Al Stohlman round knife!! It is especially freaking awesome for cutting any kind of curve and for rounding corners in your leather!! When you buy this Al Stohlman round knife, make sure you make and/or buy a leather strop and pick up some jewelers rouge (polishing compound) so you can ensure that you’re properly keeping that mirror, polished finish and fine edge before each use or at a minimum before you start a major project!! A sharp edge and a polished finish on all your leather cutting tools should be maintained if you are looking to get into leather carving/tooling/crafting! Good luck and have a great one!!

Good Round Knife
Good quality knife with a reasonably sharp blade. I made a sheath but it really should include one.

High quality, great value.
As good as a Berry King round knife for half the cost. Extremely sharp out of the box. I strop all my leather carving tools before and after each use. As a test, I cut though 9/10 oz leather easily without any stropping or sharpening. Beautiful finish on handle and blade. I've used a C S Osborne round knife (5") that need a little sharpening when new and not real comfortable in hand. This Al Stohlman round knife is now my favorite. I love the smaller size and beautiful finish.

Terrific
Came sharp and was extremely useful out of the box. Not for beginners though, but that's round knives in general. It's a lot of edge to maintain and a good way to hurt yourself if you don't know what you're doing. For the intermediate or experienced leatherworker, it does just fine. Easy to use, cuts nicely, my only complaint is that it doesn't have a sheath...but most don't, and given that if you're buying it you're already a leather worker that isn't a problem!

OMG, go for it!
Review from a round knife newbie! What a tool! It has a learning curve. If you know how to use one, you'll be fine. I'm still getting used to it. It came somewhat sharp. I needed to immediately go and get some rouge and make a strop to get it to where I wanted it. It was not at all hard - glue some thick veg tan to a block of wood ( nice and flat! ) And rub some of the $8 rouge variety pack from Lowe's on there. You're ready to go! There are some YouTube videos out there to get you started. But boy, boy oh boy, this thing is great. Light in the hand, makes a satisfying slice. Strikes fear into the heart of my veg tan. And at this price? Wow! Loving it so far. I'll return, someday, to update this review.

Worth the money!
I am new at leather crafting and frankly wasn’t sure what tools were needed. After doing research, it was clear this was on the list of ideal starter tools. It is well made and extremely sharp. I’m very happy with how easy it is to use and how clean the cuts are. Highly recommend!

Great crescent knife for leather, but craft yourself a sheath before you hurt yourself on accident
It's very sharp and works very well, so no problems at all with the knife. My only issue is that instead of a sheath it came with a plastic sleeve that the knife cut through in transit. So the immediate project after getting this razor sharp accident-in-waiting was to craft a sheath. You could buy a sheath, too, probably, but if you are buying this knife, you should be able to make a functional leather sheath instead.

The knife has an unpleasant sharp brass ferrule on the handle. The brass pins stick out from the handle and are also sharp. The blade was too blunt to skive leather. (See photo).
