An exciting new AOR music star is born: Swedish singer Angelica Rylin (The Murder of My Sweet) has decided to pursue her childhood dream and record a Melodic Rock album! Her Murder of My Sweet bandmate and partner in crime, Daniel Flores assisted her on the production which has yielded a superb final result. "I always wanted to record an album like this" says Angelica, 'my childhood heroes were Robin Beck, Ann Wilson of Heart and Leigh Matty of Romeo's Daughter'.Some Melodic Rock songwriting luminaries worked diligently with Angelica to create the magic harmonies and music that will be displayed on her debut album. "Harry Hess, Daniel Flores, Robert Sall, Alessandro Del Vecchio and Anders Wigelius all contributed," continues Angelica and some excellent guitarists such as Jesper Stromblad (In Flames), Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear), Per Berquist (Smash Into Pieces) also appear on the album. There is also a very special performance by keyboardist Matt Guillory (James LaBrie). Truly Fantastic!!!
Angelica Rylin is the lead vocalists for the symphonic metal band (The Murder Of My Sweet). Although this review is of Angelica's album "Thrive", I highly recommend the album's "Bye Bye Lullaby", and "Divanity", both of which are by The Murder Of My Sweet, and are truly amazing! As a loyal subscriber to the frontier records Facebook and YouTube pages, I am privy to announcements of upcoming releases. A few months back I watched an interview with Angelica , who was enthusiastically talking about her new album "Thrive", and the single from the album "Breaking My Heart". This song played in the background of the interview, and it sounded like it was going to be fantastic. When the video was released a few weeks ago, and I was able to hear the song in its entirety, I was not disappointed, as it exceeded my expectations! Upon hearing "Thrive" I was blown away by Angelica's performance, as it's stellar! The musicians featured on the album are equally as impressive, in terms of their intensity. "Thrive" differs from Angelica's material with The Murder Of My Sweet, in that "thrive" is more of a power/pop/rock album, as opposed to symphonic metal. She makes the transition in styles seamless however, and every track on "Thrive" is perfect in its own way. In addition to "Breaking My Heart", other standout tracks for me are "Can't Stop, "Riding Out The Storm", "Lovers In Paradise", "This Kiss Is Just For You", and "Take Me To Your Heart". Angelica's "Thrive" can be summed up as a phenomenal rock experience! I highly recommend this album!

Angelica stands alone
Angelica Rylin has a wonderful voice. I know her best as the vocalist for Gothic metal band The Murder of My Sweet. This solo effort highlight her other interests that aren't so metalic having a melodic and ballad like quality. If you like TMoMS you'll definately like this.

J'ai découvert Angelica Rylin sur le site du label Frontiers Records et je n'ai pas été déçu. Les chansons de l'album sont un bon dosage entre la mélodie et la pêche. C'est un rock AOR de belle facture dont je ne me lasse pas. Il n'y a aucun titre plus faible que les autres, tout roule et en plus c'est une belle femme. Que du bonheur. J'ai aussi écouté ce qu'elle fait avec son groupe, mais j'aime moins. J'attends le prochain avec impatience !

Tolle Scheibe, kapatuliert einen direkt wieder in die 80er. Wer auf eingänge Songs mit fetten Gitarren und Keyboards steht, macht hier nix falsch. Fast jeder Song ein Volltreffer, der sofort im Ohr hängen bleibt. Wer früher Erika gut fand, wird mit dieser CD seine Freude haben. Hier geht es deutlicher rockiger zu als bei ISSA und die Songs sind eindeutig besser und eingängiger.

Was looking for some other band when i came across this little gem. I thought the voice was familiar (The murder of my sweet), although a different style and more melodic. Love every song on this CD, the only other CD which recently came out whereby i love every song on it, is the new Place Vendome CD(similar style). I am a recent convert to the more melodic sounding rock music genre, where normally i prefer something with a harder edge. If more and more music of this genre is being produced, then I am all for it. To help more and more of these artists thrive and continue to produce good music, then buy the CD or legitimate legal downloads - otherwise we'll lose them.

A really good CD very much towards the melodic metal style that I like. She sings well and I would certainly be more than tempted to buy any future albums she may choose to record.
