SMARTRO ST54 Dual Probe Digital Meat Thermometer with Timer Mode

Great thermometer to monitor meat while in the oven. The dual probes allow you to monitor different cuts in the oven or multiple sections of a single cut. Especially useful with turkey, able to measure the temp of breast meat and wings to ensure doneness without overcooking. I purchased this in December of 2024 and installed it right away on the supply and return lines of my closed loop water heater solar collector (uses antifreeze solution with heat exchanger) to monitor the temperatures. Probes are inside the pipe insulation. Not exactly what it was designed for but was a much less costly alternative compared to dedicated instruments. It has been on continuously since installation and is still on the first set of batteries (just over a year now), I rarely use the light though. The display has good contrast with color and easy to read in low light. The alarm works well and I can hear it even with my bad hearing. I am still trying to find the best high temp alarm setting so I don't have false alarms. This was a good purchase. I am happy with it and hope it keeps working for a long time.

This is so easy to use and so accurate. The 2 probes are so useful, especially when used on the grill. My husband loves this thermometer.

I needed a new instant read thermometer. I always lose the small one I had in my kitchen drawers. I came to Amazon to order a new one the last time I couldnt find it. However, I came across this lovely item and decided to give it a go. So glad I did! Not only can I use either of the probes to get an instant read I can set a desired temp and no longer have to keep coming back and checking on the oven. It has a nice loud alarm that goes off when it reaches the desired temp. Love that there are 2 probes so I can cook different things or if cooking a lot of bone in chicken I can get a read in two different areas so that if I have a hot spot in oven I can rotate during the cooking process. It really has made my cooking better with no guesswork or drying out the meat because I was afraid it wasnt done in the middle! Get this great little gadget!

Returning this on Day 2. PROS: + Good magnet + Long probe cords + Looks nice + Display screen is large + The timer is great CONS: - One of the probes never worked - stayed on one temp under heat or cold water. - The manual was written for people with Superman's vision - The temp (of the working probe) was always lower than needed. - The pre-set temps are annoying when you are not checking meat temps - Display only good at certain angles - Annoying temp selection when not using presets - At $26 I expected this to work better than my $12 one. It did not. I've been looking for a dual probe item for a while. I wanted to like this, which is why I paid more than I should have. From the first moment, I hated the booklet that I had to use a magnifier to read. Seriously. I really hated having to tap forever to lower or raise a custom temp. Also, for the probe that worked, the accuracy was off. I checked against my ThermPro. My bread was not completely cooked when reading the temp on the Smartpro. I'm going to go back to something better for my baking. No presets and no faulty probes.

The SMARTRO ST54 is an easy to read instant display cooking thermometer for the BBQ or stove. I have used mine so far for BBQ, Stove Top and Sous Vide cooking. As a user you can quickly select the standard cooking temps for Beef, Fish, Hamburgers, Pork and Chicken or you can set your own specific alarm temperature on one or both probes. The included probes are very well made with stainless leads and long probe ends which keep your fingers away from the real heat when you hold them by the silicone grips. I checked the accuracy with my very expensive Sous Vide machine and the resulting readouts were within a degree so I figure you can trust this thermometer. The face of the case is stainless steel with two switches on the plastic back. One to set fahrenheit vs celsius readings and another to turn on the unit, choose timer or cooking display. Part of the simplicity is the fact that this unit is not Bluetooth capable with no need to use an App or a Smartphone. You use this the old fashioned way, like your dad did - if he even had a BBQ thermometer? (Probably didn't), but of he did, he would have used something like this.... simple and easy to understand.

The reason I got this is because I bought a huge smoker box with all the bells and whistles and it was awful ! It took forever and then the food was still uncooked and very little smoke. So I returned that $200 plus item and bought a smoker box for my grill on amazon (which works great and a million times better than my giant smoker thing). I also bought this to know when my meat was REALLY done ! So to test it out on the grill we have 2 1/2 pound burgers ! I asked my son who was 10 years old to put together the digital thermometer and explain to me how it works. ( as we were cooking he mentioned this is like Star Treck with probe 1 and probe 2-lol) What was amazing to me is both of our burgers were off the flame but see in the picture how the temp was so different ! I was able to move and get the high temp one elsewhere and try to get the low temp one up ! The result was AWESOME. We NAILED IT ! We both like our meat not raw but -just that right amount its cooked and still not overcooked. I guess I call that minimum Rare ! Best hamburger ever ! And I didn't even get this for burgers ( although I will use now for them ) ! I am so excited to see Chicken and Turkey with two sides inserted. You can see how you could say lets move this or flip sides etc ! Just awesome and I think a very good price too ! Very easy to read and my cords were inside the grill. Provato a fare arrosto in forno. Perfetto. Si può inserire una delle 2 sonde nella carne e grazie al lungo cavo il termometro lo si può mettere fuori dal forno sulla cucina. Graziose e semplici da usare le funzioni tra cuoi ho trovato molto comodo l'allarme. Lo consiglio

Installé pour contrôler la température d'un four. Utilisé depuis plus d'un mois. Il y avait un problème de mesure de température. J'ai fait la remarque au vendeur. Et eu plusieurs échanges avec lui. La réponse a été très professionnelle. Ils vont modifier le programme en usine pour les prochaines livraisons. Là je dis bravo. J'avais mis 2 étoiles à cause du problème, j'ai modifié et mis 4.
