Great data SIM for China! (tested mainland, Shanghai, Hong Kong)
Went to China for two weeks of travel, including rural southern mainland areas, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. I bought two SIM cards, one with calling minutes and this one was a backup. Lucky I did! This backup saved me, it worked immediately when put in (Android phone, unlocked). Other SIM did not work out of the box, you needed to have data already (!) to do a registration process with it that took about a day. I used this SIM to register the other one, and then found out the other SIM was so heavily sensored... even VPN connections were blocked. That other SIM was worthless, had to rely full time on this one (and no calling). This SIM wasn't blocked at all that I could tell, was able to access my VPN and use the internet fully. Had good connection everywhere I went and it really saved the trip (Google translate needs data for image translation!) Barely used half the data but it was well worth it. Excellent instructions for installation and setup also. I read in another review the customer support is nonexistent and I never had to use them, so I can't comment, but the instructions are well thought out and clearly done by someone really fluent in English rather than translated like my other SIM.

Worked Perfectly with Pixel 3A
Worked great for a 10 day trip. No VPN required to access Google, Facebook or Instagram. Easy to install, just follow the instruction on the paper that comes with the sim card, just need to change the access point. To check your data balance dial *115*50# and you will receive a text with data used and remaining data. Even though it states is 6GB, when I receive the text message it state it is actually 8GB total, so that is even better. I only used about 3GB total, so did not check if it was actually 8GB total (mainly used it for Facebook, Instagram and a couple of YouTube videos). Speed was fast. It was really helpful because even if you use WIFI with VPN, the connections are not that good, and VPN did not always work. Therefore I just preferred using the SIM over the WIFI. Only remember: unlocked phone required, no Voice or Text with this Sim, only data.

Worked in at least 1 of the 2 provinces..
Install: 5 star This card worked on my Samsung Galaxy S10e once I inserted the SIM in. I did have to turn on DATA ROAMING. Speed/Usability: 5 star The speeds (LTE) were quicker than any WiFi I connected to in China. Facebook, WhatsApp, Gmail, Google all worked. Reception/availability: 4 star I traveled in Guangdong Province, and there weren't any dead spots. I had reception at pretty much every location. It was a different story when I got to Liaoning Province. The phone worked at the airport, but as soon as I travelled a couple km/miles away from the airport, the connection went dead. There are only very small sweet spots that I'll get reception again, and when I say very small, I'm talking about in single digit feets. (Within 2 feet radius) it's very strange. Had to switch to wifi which limited my "searches" on Bing.com or Yahoo.

It worked right after the SIMS card was loaded, ...
It worked right after the SIMS card was loaded, but the data ran out much less than described. I only used for about 4days in China, about 10% of 2 GB, then the card quit working. I had iPhone 8, unlocked.

Easy to use there is English directions
This sim card was very easy to use no passport required. I went through china from Beijing, Xian, and Chengdu. Reception was good mostly LTE. I liked the 30 days 3 GB of data option because it gave me more than enough data for the apps I regularly use. Also all websites work including google and google maps... around the 10th day mark of my trip, around Chengdu my imessage and face time through apple gave up. Luckily I had downloaded alternatives like WeChat and WhatsApp. I tried to restart my phone and switching to a local sim to no avail. Local sim cards in main land china seem to be very restricted. Nothing but WeChat worked on the local SIM (snail). I got it through a vending machine and it cost around the same price as this one. Then one of the locals told me the this SIM from amazon is actually from Hong-Kong so there is less restrictions and they use similar connections. I'm not sure but I used the remainder of my data by the time I left (2 weeks) with out imessage or Face-time. Even with that minor defect I think I got bang for my buck since most other services charged $10 a day (Verizon/Sky-roam). Just keep in mind it is only 3GB not good for sharing or tethering just for individual use. If you need to share or tether look into sky-roam instead their device is more geared towards sharing.

Works perfectly in my trip.
This card is perfect match for my trip. - I was traveling to Shanghai > Macau > Zhuhai > Guangzhou > Hong Kong in 2 weeks. Because mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau are 3 different mobile network carriers, I used to have to use 3 different cards for a similar trip. But this card would allow me to have Internet access on all places without the need of a 2nd card. Some Tips if you plan to buy this card: 1. This card works on unlocked ATT and T-mobile phones. If you have a Verizon/Sprint phone, it may not work. 2. This card is only for network access, it does not have a phone number. You need to use Skype or Wechat Out to make phone calls. 3. It is 3G, but it could be faster than the US 4G speed. I used Speedtest in HK airport, and I got 9.79Mbps download speed. My T-mobile 4G download speed is normally at around 8Mbps near my home. (Screenshot I took in HK airport using this card's network.) 4. The network is not perfectly stable when I am traveling in car or train. I often got disconnected when traveling in cars or trains. 5. It is expensive. If you are not going to Macau or Taiwan, there are other China Unicom card that you can buy with either lower price or more data. 6. I can access Google and Facebook in mainland China with this card. (I won't be able to access to Google/Facebook in mainland China with wifi in mainland.) On the day I return to US after my 2 weeks trip, my phone showed that I spent 0.81GB of data for the last 2 weeks. 1GB is enough, but it had tried to use wifi as much as possible during the trip.

Works great. Just follow instructions.
I bought two of these. The one I put in my Wifes iphone started working immediately, the APN settings changed automatically. On my Android it was more complicated. I entered the APN settings and it didn't seem to work. I realized later there is a save option in the top right menu to save the APN settings, rather than hitting the back arrow. Once I figured that out, it worked on my Android phone as well. Everything has worked great since! It is important to have this because without it, Google maps other Google products and do not work on Wi-Fi here. (Apparently Google if the only company that refuses to let China control your data) with this sim card Google works great. As other user says, *118*50# is how to check data balance. update- recharging was very difficult. I couldn't get it to work on laptop, could only do it on mobile website (in chinese) by having browser translate, then clicking on "top off" But the website ONLY accepts Visa. And my "Verified by Visa" required me to receive a text message, which of course I can't receive while in China. Regular Skype and Google voice are blocked (thank you communists) , so I had to find a chinese version on web.skype.com on my laptop, call 877-388-6581 (BofA's number) wait on hold ask them to turn off the SMS verification. Once they did that, it worked. My 3gb data lasted me 6 days, and I needed 7. I use heavily though, youtube, maps, etc. Just make sure your mobile verification for your bank and credit cards is turned off before you go overseans

Beaware: It does NOT work in Taiwan !!
Bought two for a recent trip to Taiwan with my friend. It simply does not work in Taiwan. We had to buy new Sim cards from local Taiwan airport. Gave one to my friend who went to China first, then meet me in Taiwan. She told me it worked slowly (maybe because it is 3G) in China. However, her sim card did not work in Taiwan either. Luckily, she got a refund back from the seller (she used a small amount of data). Somehow, I do not get any refund back at all (I almost use no data ...)?? Still waiting for the seller's reply for the refund after two weeks ..... I got the refund from seller. So, I guess this card is OK if you only use it in China for 3G (not for Taiwan).

Worked Perfectly!
The Unicom Greater China 30 Days Data SIM Card was easy to use. I inserted it into the phone when I landed in HK and had data right away. This SIM Card allowed me access to gmail, chrome and google throughout the 7 cities in mainland China that I visited. Along with WeChat, I was able to connect with everyone local and North America. (Remember to turn on roaming on your phone once you enter mainland). The first 3GB of data was fast, the speed was slower after that but still okay. Will definitely buy this again for next trip to China.

Excellent
Worked perfect. Popped it in my phone when I landed in Shanghai, service was fast and Google, YouTube, Instagram etc. all worked without a VPN. Other parts of China the service was equally as fast and reliable. Definitely recommend.
