Gibson Soho Lounge Dinnerware set, Square, Blue

July 2022: It's been years. I still have every single piece in use from the set exempting a couple small chips that were my fault. I am not gentle. They have been microwaved, through countless dish washing machine cycle, hand scrubbing, left outside in all sorts of weather and they look exactly the same as the day I bought them (minus a couple of self-induced chips). My review holds up four years later and I continue to highly recommend. I was looking for a dinnerware set for six. I spent a considerable amount of time browsing all over. Buying two sets of these was less expensive than anything comparable in design. Out of the box they look fantastic. The color is spot on and the black finish is stylish and discrete. They feel solid and have a comfortable weight. They look much more expensive than they are. I have only had them for a few days but they all went through the dish washer and hand washing with no damage. They do get hot in the microwave but for me this is not an issue. Honestly I can't see faulting this dinnerware at this price. If you paid a few hundred dollars and they didn't meet expectations in quality then I can see the complaint if you get a chip or they get hot in the microwave. A serving set of four is thirty-five dollars! They are outstanding at twice the price. They look better than sets I looked at many times the price.Even if you're not on a budget I recommend this dinnerware set. If they disintegrate en masse after a few weeks or months I'll update this review.

Absolutely love this dish set. The coloring looks great even thoigh there is some variation to the coloring in each piece and each piece looks slightly different but they still look great. They are definetly not thin or easily breakable. They are heavier but not to heavy. Very large in size you can fit a little bit of everything for a thanksgiving meal on one plate!!! I have now had 2 sets of these for over 2 1/2 years and have only managed to break one plate and that was only because i accidently knocked our HEAVY glass salt and pepper grinder out of the cupboard 3 ft down directly on the outer part of the plate. The plate did not shatter into glass dust or small pieces, only had 3 large pieces to pick up and throw away. There is no signs of wear and tear or chips on these dishes and like i said ive had tbem for 2 1/2 years and we eat 2-3 meals at hone daily. Very good quality.

Packaging was great and items took a little longer than expected to arrive but that was not a big concern. Many of the previous customers have said they are easy to scratch so you should be careful. The blue plate surface is fine and can take all sorts of fork, spoon, and knife stabs while the bottom black underside of the bowls and plates seem to be a little more fragile. I have no scratches on mine since I use shelving to stack the plates on their own shelf. Being a bachelor, this is a perfect dinner set because you can have a professional modern look to your dinner set whenever company is over and you don't have to eat off of those paper plates anymore! -Blue with Black finish looks amazing. -All glass feels very heavy and compact, the only exception is the larger plate seems a little more fragile. -The cups are great for coffee or tee. -The bowls are nice and deep, perfect for soup or cereal so your spoon won't suddenly slide into your food. (hate that). -The small plate is a great small salad plate or for a child while the larger ones are more than enough for a hungry adult.

I had been watching this product for several weeks and decided to buy not only one set, but two. The color is prettier than the picture, though color close enough. What was a surprise was the dinner plates are larger (but not overly - bigger than some plates) and that was great too as there is plenty of room to cut a piece of meat, for instance, without it falling off the edge. The reason I gave a 1 star for weight is a negative, rather, because this product is heavy - not light. Overall, every thing about this purchase met or exceeded certain criteria and I love it. The shipping was fast, too, and with holidays coming, this is a great way to start the season. My BFF saw my set in blue and she is ordering the red. She couldn't believe what she saw

I love the blue color. It's a very pretty blue. I bought these a while ago and I don't have a dishwasher so I can tell you that I haven't broken any yet. These are thick plates. Coffee cups are the perfect size for me.. My one complaint is the exterior of the bowls have light scratches on them from them being in a sink and scraping against other dishes. If you're looking for a classy looking set and you can't spend that much I would recommend these. Oh, watch your portioning because the plates are huge. Included are pictures of the scratches. I'm sure if you have a dishwasher this won't happen to you

I'm not sure what the rest of the monsters are doing to this dinner wear set, but they have survived my 3 now 4 year old having to put his OWN plate and bowl in the sink, and have survived daily use in a household that isn't a safe space for breakables. There were a few blemishes in the glazing on the stone wear upon arrival, but realistically if you have had stone wear that was glazed before you know its unheard of to not have a few blemishes in a set. IT IS STONE WEAR... if you are rough with it... it will chip... it gets hot in the microwave but it seems to cool off quicker than my last stone wear set. Bottom line I love how it looks, and a 4 place set for 30 bucks why not.

I would highly recommend them. I ordered two sets, When they came in it was two different boxes, One said elite in the other one did not, therefore slightly two different color blues. I called Amazon right away and the next day I received a box of the correct ones and returned The other box the next day. Amazon was wonderful!!

I was nervous about this purchase since some reviews said they explode in microwave. I have not had that happen yet, I hope it does not. They arrived from the seller "global supplies" perfectly and at a great price, I see the price is higher now. I was amazed really they made it unbroken. They actually had a ship label on them from walmart to the seller tho'. Im betting they may be cheaper on walmart site but oh well. Im happy. The blue color is as pictured in my opinion. I don't find them delicate as others describe. We however do not have a dishwasher so I cant review that portion. My dishes are hand washed. We microwave regularly tho' I have not actually cooked raw foods on them (like a burger) Just heat ups so far. The dishes seem substantial, not thin or light by any means. Ive never owned stoneware that didn't get hot in a microwave and the label says to expect this. (they do get hot, but only where the food is not whole dish which is great, perhaps till they age). I have no complaints so far, hope they do well, the other reviews make me nervous. We aren't especially hard on things just hubby and I, but then again with hand washing and stacking dishes up it does get ware. So far no scratches or anything. I have only owned them a few weeks but use them daily. So far I recc'd them.

Me encanto el color, la calidad y la resistencia que tienen, un poco pesados pero nada fuera de lo común... solo que la caja venia sin ninguna protección lo cual corría el peligro de romperse, lo cual por fortuna no paso.

Rock solid pottery, beautiful ... you only really able to buy the Gibson stuff from Amazon if you are in the UK, only seen one other place at over double the price. Only thing is you can't easily get spares, so worth considering buying 2 sets. We have done that, we bought more than one shade to mix and match. Some of their patterns look really cool too ... we just weren't brave enough! Recommended 100%

So this is my first review ever and the only reason I'm reviewing this product is to let people know that no the dishes are not as blue as advertised. However, its still a nice blue just not as dark as advertised. Other than that, best dishes I ever had. Also wait for them to go on sale. I got them for $70 around Nov 2019. $130 is way too much and nit worth it. Wait for the sale!!!
