The Cube isn’t coated with any type of protective coating - must be careful to avoid staining other items or rubbing it against anything. Does include small plastic case but that defeats the purpose.

It’s a great little cube to use as a visual aid when talking about carbon and climate change. But the protective box was not included.

I sure wish I had these 1" element cubes when I was a middle schooler or high school chemistry student. I can't explain why, but these 1" cubes are just fascinating. A perfect gift for scientifically inclined people of any age! As for Carbon, well, it's just very much in the news, life depends on it, and it's just cool to hold a pure cube of it.
