I haven’t been fishing for in 15+ years. But recently my girlfriend and I rented a tiny house on a lake and I decided it would be fun to give it try. Enter the dock demon. For less than $10 (on sale) you get a killer little rod and reel that gives you hours of fun. I caught absolutely nothing the entire time we were there but thats probably because I’ve always been a terrible fisherman. Going to keep this in my car for random ponds and streams in the area. Definitely worth getting one to keep in the car, or if you’re looking to casually get back into fishing. Be advised you will need to acquire bait, bobbers, hooks, and weights. But the back of the cardboard that the pole comes attached to has some instructions on how to tie a knot to the hook and placement for everything else.

I saw all the bad reviews on this little combo set that I purchased to take my 4 year old grandson fishing. I'm not sure what people had expected for under 10.00. This little set up is great.Thwvlittle rod is perfect for a little kid to fish with. Just drop the line in the water with a bobber and the world is good. The reel is just what is expected for a reel made by Zebco. Push the button and the line drops in the water. Grandpa doesn't have to untagle knots all day because the line is enclosed. Just like what was used when our kids were little. I just might use it in the winter for ice fishing. 😂😂😂

Great first fishing pole for my 4 year old!! Super easy for them to learn how to cast.

bought for my 7 year old son and he has been having a blast with it. I also bought a set of casting practice weights so he can practice in the back yard which has been great. I also have to say, for a fishing pole this thing has put up with 100% of the abuse a child can give it which surprised me a bit. If you want to get a kid into fishing this is a perfect starter.

I have never used this for fishing, I purchased to fling cat-toys inside my house and reel in 10 lb land-cats. This rod works very well for this purpose and should work very well for fishing as well within the intended purpose of dock or boat fishing where a very short rod is useful. This rod is toy-sized but it is better than toy quality. Quality seems perfectly reasonable for this price point. I have cast a small (5 gram) toy up to 20' hundreds of times and not yet had any tangles or problems with the reel. The clutch has worked to prevent any line breaks from pulling too hard up to this point. So far, works as advertised.

They shouldn’t even bother with the reel and just sell the pole, the pole is great. The real handle should be reversible and for some reason this is set up for left handers. There isn’t a right handed option. Toddlers and young kids are still figuring what their hand dominance is. The drag isn’t smooth at all. The fishing line has really bad memory and needs to be replaced out of the box. The Zebco 33 micro is a huge upgrade worth every penny if you want fishing to be a pleasant experience with your children.

My kids love to fish for sun fish off the dock at our lake house and we needed some replacements because my son dropped one of my nephew's rods in the lake when he hooked a bigger fish. These are super affordable and work great. They are easy for both my 4 and 2 year olds to use... all I have to do is bait the hook! I bought two and will definitely buy more of these in the future if needed.

This rod, small enough to be taken to bodies of water normally inaccessible to the modern day angler, aided me in my quest to catch a bass at a funeral service. I don't know if your run to the mill bass fisherman has the gumption to harness such a potent rod-reel combo as it is a specialty item. The Zebco Dock Demon is the Thor's Hammer of fishing rods and I am the god of thunder.

Absolutely a perfect product. Useful for kids who likes fishing. Athough looks small it has significant capacity to hold weight. Very easy to handle as well

The dock demon rod was poorly made and broke after the first use. Rod bend was great but the plastic reel broke with minimal use.

This fishing rod works extremely well as a cat toy. I was sick of spent 7-10$ on cat toys that break after only a few weeks. I decided to spend 20$ on a child's fishing rod and try something new. Wow - this rod has held up! It comes with the fishing line ready to go. Simply string through the rod holes, and attach a favourite cat toy to the end. Personally I used a worm toy and then a feather toy (broken off from an old feather wand toy) My cats go CRAZY for this thing. Best of all - I can stand or sit in one place, cast the rod in and part of the house, and reel the toy back. Cats young and old will go crazy for this. Do yourself a favour - stop spending tons of money on cat wands, spend the 20$ and make your own toy. Your cats won't be disappointed! - it's 31 inches long, meaning it's fairly small. You can easily use this rod inside the home without bashing into walls or other objects. - it's very easy to use as it's intended for a small child, so your kids can use this rod to play with your cats without worry

This weight on this rod is pretty good but I used it once and the reel broke so my personal statement is that you should buy a different rod but I would say that it's okay for it's value
