hi what is the working area of the large size strop please costing £23.95

Hi. The working area is about 9 inches by 3. Or 20cm by 7 cm.

What this supposed to do? Is this supposed to sharpen it from zero ? Or I should use it after whetstone?

This will only to maintain an already sharpened blade, you will not sharpen a knife with a strop. You will also need a compound to apply to the leather. Many types available. I would go on Youtube. Many videos on sharpening and stropping.

I have applied the bloom covered compound to the strop, the leather is now grey and greasy, do I have to clean it off and if so, what with?

I found the same, as though it was flaking off, however, when I stropped a knife with it after sharpening it came out razor sharp. Hope this helps
