Arcadia PureSun Mini Bird Lighting Kit

The light is great with my geo cage but was super frustrating to put together. The clip to hold the light bar onto the frame is just hopeless. The screw is not long enough and the lamp moved so much that it kept falling apart. Super frustrating. The clamp for the cage attachment looked a poor design too. In the end I dispelled with the clip and used double backed gel tape which has secured it really well. As I have the Geo cage without vertical sides I have also used the gel tape to secure the lamp to the wall.

Arcadia PureSun mini bird lighting kit Firstly the lamp arrived within a couple of days and well packaged. It was fiddly to assemble to the parrot cage, but once in place it stayed where it was put. Now, the surprise I got Nico my little boy (an Amazon parrot) I got him as a rescue 12 years ago, they said he was aged 3 then. Nico loves the lamp, and enjoyed sitting under it preening, his feathers have never looked so good. Now, he has had the lamp since 3rd April, on 14th June he started acting very odd, spending more time on the floor of his cage making unusual sounds. On the 16th June, I truly thought I was going to lose him. He started making very odd sounds and looked like he was going to collapse to the floor. I took him out of his cage and let him rest on my chest, the sounds got louder and more agonising, I was looking for information on his condition on the internet. I read he could be having respiratory problems, I stood up to get my phone to contact the vet....I felt something roll on my foot when I stood up...OMG there was an eggs on the floor, so my little boy was actually a little girl I have since found out via my vet that these 'sunshine lamps' can stimulate the bird in to needing to breed, hence my Nico laid an egg. She is now spending time sitting the egg, and even though it is not fertile I must leave the egg with her for up to 3 weeks, and hopefully she won't lay another one. So be prepared for a surprise if you have a little boy bird. The video is the sound my bird was making while resting on my chest, I recorded it so I could play for my vet. But it may help someone who listens not to panic and get upset thinking the worst like I did. So thanks to this lamp I found out I have a little girl :)

The bracket that clamps onto light body flimsy and doesn't quite fit, apart from that it lights up. Not really worth £51 but heyho it's rip off Britain isn't it.

Very good for price and bird loved it from the word go.

Not sure the birds like it as they seem to hide from it. It was recommended by the vet so will give it a fair go.

Firstly, it’s really flimsy considering how expensive it is, the clip to hold the light is really tough to get onto the light and scratches the surface. There’s no instruction how to fit the light bulb (turns out you just slot it in and twist it gently). Got it all set up and then it didn’t work! Very smart looking in the pictures but that’s it.

The light is nice and bright but fittings flimsy.
