Windows 10 Simplified

Good way to learn about Windows.

Missing some "simple, stupid" answers to my Q's, but overall, it's a great book for us who have W-10 (which I now have grown to hate!). I needed this book to find my way through the most annoying platform that M\S has ever invented...I miss W-'98 and W-'7 tremendously and for them to pass off W-10 as the best thing out there is ludicrous! Our son uses Linux and one day if he comes down here, he said he'll set us up with that, but for now, we need Windows. This book is helpful though, so I cannot dismiss it. My biggest "thorny" issue is that I delete email and the next day it's all back again!! The book does NOT tell us how to get rid of it permanently. The photos are clear and easy to understand, but there are some directions that do NOT apply to W-10, so you do get confused at times (or is it me?).

Haven'T had too much of a chance to read to find Specific issues -- BUT so far is pretty simple to read & understand clear instructions for a semi beginner & seniors trying to get the hang of Windows 10. HOWEVER I THINK THE LAST CHAPTER SHOULSHOULD HAVE BEEN THE 1ST & More Description on Installing the Google & MSN as well as How to use them.

I have stayed with Windows 7 , and moved with great reluctance to 10 when purchasing new laptop. I was Looking for detailed instruction book since 10 for me is starting from scratch. As I skimmed through content and matched book with what I was seeing on my new laptop screen, I discovered that Windows updates including January 2019 have modified enough of the program that this book has become less than fully helpful. Publisher should offer free on-line text modifications and additions as needed because of program changes at least twice per year . Even then, eventually entire book needs to be redone. I have returned this one; way out of date

Very pleased. Easy step-by-step guide to get you up to speed in W10. Color illustrations on every page, showing you exactly what to do. MUCH better than Windows 10 For Dummies. I previously used Windows XP and this has been the perfect bridge to Windows 10.

i have always been pretty good with the computer until Windows 10. this book was a great help with easy to understand, illustrated subject matter. Things that caused confusion at the outset became crystal clear. I had dreaded getting my new computer loaded with W10 but now feel as though I have a grasp on it. I probably won't read the whole book but it is valuable as a reference.

Some people can read a technical book and immediately make things work. Some people simply cannot do that. This book solves that problem. It is a great combination of printed matter to explain things, but also provides the visuals (graphics) to show one what the "thing" looks like. This is a great guide to Windows 10. It will not teach one how to use a computer...

Just got Windows 10 after using 7 for years so needed some pointers. So far, I have learned a few things. Need more time to see how helpful it will be.

Some more of explanatory text would have been better, though.

I'm starting to teach someone Windows 10 and needed a "Lesson plan" A where to start for the beginner. This is excellent. Unlike many others, it goes into more depth than just your basics. Very easy to read, glossy paper. Very professional and great value. Highly recommend

I had not updated for some time, and was using Windows 7. Needed to purchase a new desktop model, and found such a lot of changes, with Windows 10. I was having problems completing tasks. This book is just what it says - Windows 10 simplified. I recommend it. It answers my needs and has been very helpful.

This is a really wonderful book. I like the way it is set out. Directions are easy to follow and pictures are used as a help. With its split into sections it is easy to find what topic one may need some assistance with. Before this book I was terrified at the prospect of navigating windows 10. I am not feeling that way any longer. Highly recommend it.

I have previously bought the XP & Vista books in this series so when I updated my laptop from Vista to Windows 10 this product was my first choice. As a silver surfer I like the large print and easy to follow step by step instructions. I have given this book 4 stars rather than 5 stars as there are some sections that I will not use e.g. Follow Your Favourite Teams, Find a Recipe, Set up a Fingerprint Sign In, and I-Cloud Account etc. If, like me, you only want to do basic things on your computer I would recommend this book and then at a later date if you want to be more adventurous you can learn how to do other things.
