desertcart.com : US Military Surplus MOLLE Assault Pack, ACU : Army Surplus Backpack : Sports & Outdoors Review: Best price, fast shipping, better than expected quality. - I have one of these bags already and use it day to day carrying all the crap you need daily as a UPS guy (Water, snacks, pens, battery for phone, Band-Aids and small first aid stuff, etc). my past 2 bags lasted @4 months each before falling apart. This one is going on 2 years and aside from washing it every 6 months or so I have had to do nothing to it. When I decided to get a bag for my car with emergency supplies pre-packed it was a no brainer. The seller I went through - 50Cal Trading - sent a better than expected condition bag for the lowest price and it arrived early. I will gladly order from them again even if the price is a bit higher, I'm that happy with the service. These bags are indestructible, comfortable and a perfect size for virtually anything. Update 7/24. Still using and probably abusing this everyday. No problems at all. Straps work, zippers work well. same as the day I bought it. Works so well I got another to keep in the trunk of the car with an emergency kit. Review: What an amazing bag! - Bought this bag a few months ago and it is perfect for lack of a better word. I had a bag similiar in the Army but no where near this quality. Everything including the zipper is just made very well and in the USA! It came really quickly from Blackstar Surplus and with the US stenciled on the front. I take it surfing, hiking, daytripping and get all kinds of compliments from all walks of life. I have taken it camping once as well and still no signs of wear. Cleans up quickly, if you can get it dirty, and dries from soaking wet to dry as bone in 30 minutes hang dry. The clips sometimes get in the way if I am rifling in and out of it but not enough to lose any real time. Everything on bag is very useful and I still find uses for everything every time I use it. By the way, this bag can hold over 90 pounds no sweat! It can also hold a water bladder, not incl, but has all the holes and inserts for it. The bladder with the straws are cheap at any sporting goods store. Love the digital design as well, really sexy as my girlfriend says!

Great Surplus pack
Ordered one of the surplus packs for around 40 bucks that was fulfilled by Amazon. I was very pleased and was surprised with it being surplus how good of condition it is in given that it shows some wear from use. At first glance taking it out of the shipping box, the pack is solid, no holes, faded; it had some glow in dark diamond shapes sewed on it and a faint unreadable red stamp. Checking it out further, I found only two little things--one part of the waist strap buckle was missing and a a drain grommet on the bottom needs put back into place. Luckily, I had a buckle to fit it and working on repairing the grommet. Very happy with it and may get a second pack. Shipping was quick, I choose the five to eight day shipping and got it in two days. Now I'm working on figuring out how to lash it the Mountain Ruck I carry hunting clothes in, so that I can put my hunting gear in this pack.

Permanent Marker Writing, but a good bag.
Got my Assault Pack on time. Immediately noticed some dumb PFC had written his name, rank, and company on it in permanent marker on two separate areas. I wouldn't be surprised if he had to buy a brand new one for CIF turn in when he got out of the Army. The seller did say that this may happen but I wasn't expecting as much writing as I saw. Other than that everything was fine and no other issues. It also came with the foam and plastic backing. It's not something I need but I guess it's nice to have if you want it. On another note, I got the bag mainly because I was issued one(everyone is) while I was in the Army and I would also use it very often while traveling(even at airports). It's a nice sturdy bag and I've always wanted to have one again and now I do. :) If anyone else has issues with permanent marker writing: I removed the permanent marker writing using laundry detergent, hydrogen peroxide, and a scrub brush.

Just what I was looking for
I wanted a durable daypack that I could throw around a little bit. I got this with the hope that these were designed for that exact thing, and after a few weeks it seems that it was. There quality seems good but there is a few loose threads here and there, if the pack ends up not lasting I will update the review. A big plus for me is the ease in slinging this thing over your shoulder, straps allow for just a smooth natural motion that I love, much better than other backpacks I've owned in that regard. I noticed other reviewers were receiving used backpacks even when selecting new, but the one I got was reasonably priced and clearly unused. It came with a bag of replacement plastic buckles, in case one of them breaks on you, which is nice. And the aesthetic is awesome! Finally, I use this on hikes frequently, and I feel I should note that this pack was not designed for airflow, so you will get a sweaty back if you're out there for hours. I personally don't find this to be a problem, as I would be getting sweaty anyways but it's something to consider.

Versatile pack, great value
I use this for a range bag. My earmuffs and snack bars go in a pocket that never gets lead-covered things put in it. The main compartment takes most gear, including ammo. The sleeve that goes against my back is perfect for targets, and the MOLLE/PALS webbing on the outside lets me lash some water bottle pouches on each side and a sturdy case for my eyepro too. It's in the laughable UCP camo color, but who cares? I'm not hiding from bad guys with this thing, nor am I trying to make a fashion statement. It's built really well and should hold up for years. The price is insanely low but won't be forever. I'd say snap one up while they're cheap.
