Powerful cooler
I waited until the end of summer to leave my review, so I could have an idea of how this evaporative cooler would hold up after months of use. I live in So Cal, and specifically bought this for work. I work in a large outdoor booth without any kind of cooling. After several summers of suffering from sweltering heat, I finally decided to take the plunge and buy a portable swamp cooler. Initially I was hesitant, as a few hundred dollars is a lot to spend on something I’d likely only use for 3 or 4 months. But I am sooo glad I did! This cooler really does blow out cool air! I was surprised and delighted! The wheels glide across the concrete floor with ease, and the drain is easy to plug and unplug. I don’t have access to a hose, so I can’t attest to how the hose connector works. But it’s very easy to add water manually. And no leaks! You can also add small chunks of ice, although I don’t think using ice made much of a difference. Also, the little window showing the amount of water left in the tank is very convenient. Be prepared for the air flow being strong, and a bit loud. Even on low, which is the only setting I used. Being outdoors a little noise is not a big deal. But I think it might be too loud to use indoors. If I have one thing that’s negative, it’s that the latch on the manual fill door, which is only a tiny piece of plastic, broke after a couple of days. All in all, this portable cooler works great and was worth every penny!

Outdoor comfort cooler
Here’s a cooler that’s more than adequate for my 16’ x 16’ covered back patio. Works great even on the hottest of Texas days. Product was delivered ahead of schedule with no shipping damage. Very well packaged and easy to set up. Great for a 10 person party! Can even add ice to make a cooler breeze possible.

Worth every Penny for a Hot Montana Barn Party!
Purchased for a barn party when my AC wasn’t installed correctly. It did exactly what I hoped it would. Well packaged, easy to put together, and filled with the hose then a large water bottle. The water reservoir is easy to see with the clear window and bright level bubble. There’s a swing option & two fan speeds. I put it in an area approx 450 sq feet with 8-12’ ceilings. Literally cooled it 15’. You need to keep an eye on the water level but it lasted a couple hours without needing to be filled. The blower fan is great, it’s loud, but with the cool air coming out of it and music on, I barely noticed. Caster with a locking feature are great for easy moving. Attaching a little video with me holding a cloth napkin 12’ from it and the movement of the napkin when the swing hit it. Additionally, I rented three same sized “cooling” machines from a rental company for the other part of the barn at $100 ea plus $195 delivery fee. This unit I purchased, blew those machines out of the water!! Had I known, I’d have bought two more of these units! Highly recommend!

Good product that can be improved upon.
Believe it or not, a swamp cooler still works fine in humid climates. Just wait until the afternoon when the dew point drops below 65°. That’s when it’s most effective. My only disappointment is the build quality. For this price, ABS, or some glass-fiber reinforced pfte or something similar would probably work better. The plastic body is flimsy and flexible. As-delivered, I had to partially disassemble it to fit one of the doors back into the slots where it belonged. Once up and running, I’m glad for the purchase.

Love this thing!
This is a great portable cooler. I debated whether to get a whole home cooler or just a portable cooler. I’m glad I went this route as many reviews had varying ratings. Here’s my situation which may help others decide. I have a 2 story home. The upstairs is approximately 900 sq ft and is basically an open floor plan loft which has a bedroom, bathroom, and livingroom area. The downstairs is about 2200 sq ft that has the livingroom and kitchen centrally located with other rooms located around this central location. I explain this because I get great circulation in my home due to the layout. I live in SW Colorado and our typical humidity in the summer season is under 20% and most of my home never gets direct sun for too long in one location. Due to this, my home rarely gets warm until about 3-4pm in the west side. And it’s only gets a bit warm for me until about 8-9pm when the heat breaks due to the sun setting. So with that info, I bought the unit for approximately 900 sq ft. I placed my unit in the western most room and have it facing at an angle towards my centrally located rooms which is the livingroom and kitchen. On Low Setting, this thing easily knocks the heat out on the main floor. I’ve not had to use the Medium or High Settings what-so-ever even in mid to high 90s. I run a window fan upstairs to just pull heat out of the upstairs, run my ceiling fans (2) per normal, and typically I don’t have to open up any windows downstairs. While it’s recommended to run in front of an open door or window, I never do. When it begins to cool off in the evening, I may or may not open up a window while this thing is running. Due to how dry it is out here, typically I do not get any mugginess in the home from running as I do. Your situation may differ depending on humidity. Installation of the wheels was a breeze. The only thing I’d suggest is DO NOT use power tools such as a drill driver and DO NOT over tighten the screws for the wheels. I just hand tightened to snug and had zero issues with stripping out the plastic. You just have to take care. My wheels were loose within the box as the plastic storage cover was not securely screwed down. It was a non-issue for me and I didn’t have to build any wood base. The only real issue I had was the whole thing is molded plastic and my water storage section has a small area that is a tad warped. It was also a non-issue for me. As for loudness... I can hear my tv just fine with it on Low and I’m sure would hear everything just fine on the other settings. When I set a box fan next to it, I can hear the box fan on low over the cooler to give ya an idea. The only part that I find a bit annoying is the oscillating setting. It sounds like plastic rubbing on plastic with just little creaks. I’m sure a little Teflon spray, chain wax spray, or even a little WD-40 could curb that, but I don’t bother with the setting. All in all this is a great cooler and I waited to pick it up when it had a price reduction. It cools pretty much my entire downstairs, with the central house receiving the most benefit and the hallway and rooms that the breeze is directed towards in my home. I’d say it easily knocks the home temp into the mid to low 70s for about 1500 of the almost 2200 square feet I have in the main level and that’s on low. The remaining 700 sq ft is cooler, but not as noticeable. It could be if I ran it on the other settings, but no one is in those rooms or upstairs until after 9pm and my house is opened up at that point since I get temp drops of 25-30+ degrees when that sun sets. If you have my situation, this thing will easily cool your main level of your home beyond it’s minimums depending on your situation. I’ll end this review with this thought, just take into consideration your home layout, your typical humidity, the rooms that actually need cooling during the times it’s uncomfortable for you. Each situation is different. My cooler usually only gets run on 85+ degree days for about 4-6 hours, due to my locale. Once the outside temp drops into the 70s, my home gets opened up. Your situation may vary.

Cheaply made poor performance not powerful, GARBAGE
Was really excited to get this and wow what a massive failure this swamp cooler turned out to be! For reference I live in the very dry desert climate of California. This should have worked for my area according to the manufacturer. For starters my package should have been delivered within 2 days since I have Prime, took 4. Normally I don’t gripe about shipping speed but for this item arrival time was a big factor in why I selected it. Upon unboxing the product, I was disappointed immediately. CHEAP plastic unit, flimsy, company logo is crooked, and overall it looks cheap. Still I could put looks aside if the unit performed well. I filled it up per the manufacturer instructions and got everything set up. Turned it on and was yet again immediately unimpressed by the fan speed. Not powerful at all. Total dud! It’s also very noisy. If it was powerful I would expect a noisy unit and be fine with it. But, it’s not powerful and noisy which to me is unacceptable given how much I paid for this unit. I’m reasonable and there has to be a trade off somewhere. Powerful and noisy if fine, but again this unit is weak and noisy, that’s a big NO for me. I put cold water in the unit and still the temp was blowing out lukewarm air. So utterly disappointed in this product. I even tried ice after reading some reviews. Even with the ice it wasn’t that cold. It made a slight difference, but nothing to write home about. I cannot recommend this product. It’s cheaply made and performance is terrible. Grossly overpriced for what you are getting. I paid close to $500 bucks for this unit and its garbage! Returning this immediately!

Expensive but worked. Edit: for 11 days only
edit2: I was shipped a new unit two days later, so raised revew back to original. Overall, this is a good purchase, for dry arizona, when it works... I'm still skeptical about the design quality and cheapness to which this is made. I feel guilty for being sent a whole new unit for a pump failer (after less tan two weeks), but their profit margin is probably around 800%. I will give the old one to a friend who might be able to pay to fix and use it. I'll pay for higher quality, but it seems like this is no longer an option, so will have to settle for cheap repairs or replacement. Seems ilke an environmental wate though if people are worried about that sort of thing. ===================== edit: Water stopped pumping on 11th day I've used this. I have yet to open it up and see if a pipe fell off or the pump just died. It sounds like the pump is working, but no water flow. Very disappointed for the money. Not unexpected since this thing is so cheaply built, but I'd hoped it would have lasted at least the whole summer. Right now 80F (27C) when outside environment is 92F (34C) at RH12% ====================== This is pretty cheaply made, but is sufficient for what it does. Right now I have it temporarily in a 2,000sf house and it kept the temperature at 78F (26C) when outside environment is 93F (34C) at RH13%, so I expect it to work in a 900sqf house just as well or better. I'd say it works great but am worried about longevity. My parents had one that lasted 4+ decades, but it was built in the 60's or 70's. This is much more economical to run than an AC, but does not blow at 55F (13C) like they do. It is much more environmentally friendly unless it winds up failing in 5 years and I end up paying for it 8 times.

Great Evaporative Cooler if You Live in Low Humidity Place
I live in Tucson, Arizona where many houses used to only have these units on the roof for cooling. We call them Swamp Coolers. They will only work in a low humidity environment or you might as well just buy a big fan. Water runs over the filters, the big fan sucks in warm air and evaporates the water, the temp is lowered up to 25 degrees, and you have nature’s air conditioning, just like you on a hot, sweaty, breezy, desert afternoon! I bought this in July. We were replacing a 16 yo Mobile Mastercool that was made of metal and the doors were rusted out at the bottom. I saw they had these at the local Big Box Hardware Store and I was skeptical because none were on display. I was able to get a better deal here so I gave it a shot. We use the cooler on our patio under our awning. As long as it isn’t monsoon season, it drops the temp a good 25 degrees. The 3-Fan speeds are great and the oscillating feature works great. I’ve told my wife several times to turn it down because I was freezing out on a 90 degree night. The fan is very powerful which helps with the evaporation off the side and back pads. My only complaints are the plastic back panel is a little flimsy and kind of a pain to seat. If you can get the float right, hopefully you are replacing the cardboard panels only once every couple years. Replace the cardboard panels you say. Depending on how hard the water is in your area the panels over time will build up scale on them and will no longer have a good flow for the water and will need to be replaced. I’ll admit I have gone five or more years at a time but it really does work best for airflow if you replace them every couple years. A lot of this does depend on the hardness of the water in your area. My second dislike about this unit is the float. It is a plastic apparatus set up that is positioned in the corner by the side panel. First of all make sure you cut away a little extra of the cardboard so the float can move freely. I have had a very hard time getting the float to stop where I want it to be so I can just leave the hose on. When it is really hot and evaporated quickly if I have the hose bib on a very low flow it often times just fills enough and doesn’t overflow. But once you turn the fan off when you come out in the next morning there will be all kinds of water on the ground around the unit. I’m sure I can fix this I just haven’t wanted to waste an hour and a half trying to get the level perfect. If it starts to overflow I just turn it off for a while. You can tell when it is running low by looking at the float on the front of the unit. I’m sure the manufacture will reply that you should never leave the hose bib on it unattended anyways. Overall I am extremely happy with this unit. I did buy an extended warranty to make sure that the unit would be covered at least for three years. I will give an updated review next year since now it is our fall/winter and we aren’t using the unit again until most likely April.

Works Great!
It's got some noise and uses a fair amount of water per usage, but overall I am very pleased with how it cools! My only beef is that there is no shut off when the water runs out and therefore cannot be used at night. I wish I had know this and would have purchased the other model. I find the directions are lacking, and they need to be more specific on how it is used for indoors. We didn't realize you needed to use it with an open window and the house got so humid it was like a swamp, LOL! Then I had to do some research online and re-read the minimal instructions before I understood how to use it properly. ;)

Its an amazing product. I am a happy momma
It came to me so fast that made me happy. I live in housing and we are not aloud to have air conditioners. So I bought this it keeps me and my kids cool. I fill ot once a day with my hose and turn it off at night. Its so much healthier and more economical then an air conditioner. I will have this for years to come as it is deffinately a quality product. Thank you. I'm all about quality and economical products and this fits both those. From a mom in Canada.
