Great little computer, perfect for my usage!
I started recording my rides with Strava last year using a mount for my smartphone. I figured why buy a smart computer when I already have something capable? The drawbacks soon became apparent - 50 miles into a ride with gps and my phone was down to 15-20% battery. If I take any longer rides I risk being stranded with a breakdown somewhere with no phone. Then I took a fairly minor spill, while nothing was damaged my phone easily could have been. That's when I came across this great little computer. I'm not a stat freak, I just like to keep track of my rides on Strava to note my improvement over time. Something like a Garmin or Wahoo seemed like overkill for me, but I couldn't sync my rides with Strava with most of the cheap options. This is a great middle ground - a simple gps tracker that can upload rides to my phone. Setup was fairly easy so long as you read the manual. If using a speed sensor (my ANT+ sensor paired almost instantly) there is one thing to note. The manual says to enter wheel diameter in mm, but it means wheel CIRCUMFERENCE. The default setting of 2096 should tip you off, but just in case. I've only been riding with this for a week, but it has hit the sweet spot. It is easy to read with large numbers while on a ride, and the buttons are easy to find while riding without looking away from what's ahead of you. I have had no issues with accuracy so far, riding on cloudy days through the occasional wooded area. Rides are pretty easy to sync once you have the Xoss app, which can be setup to automatically sync to Strava as well as looking at ride data through the app itself. Battery life has been great so far, the quoted figures seem to hold up. This is a great computer as long as you understand what you're getting. A simple, affordable computer to record ride data and sync it with your apps. There is no navigation and it doesn't connect to show you phone notifications - which I consider a plus as I'm less distracted on rides, but could be an issue for some. This is exactly the sort of computer I'm looking for, and allows me to keep my smartphone safe in my saddlebag.

Great value bike computer
Recently purchased a used (2015) bike with a power meter so I needed a bike computer to connect and send power readings. Did not want to spend $200 -$500 for one from the “name brand” companies. This Cycplus unit seems well made and has a sturdy feel. Comes with a rubber (silicone?) cover which gives it a non slip grip and sleek matte black finish. Came mostly charged but plugged it in to charge it before syncing devices. Don’t know how long a full charge takes. Instructions are a bit sparse as others have said. Buttons to change settings one the bottom edge are stiff but positive enough. Screen is clear and numbers are big enough to read even in bright sunlight. My bike had a Garmin mount which this unit fit perfectly. Synced to power meter and heart rate monitor very quickly. Spin crank and 4-5 rotations later. Cadence and power readings show up. Heart rate shows up once you are close enough to computer. I installed my old Cateye V3 computer to compare values. Cadence and speed 100% match Distance which is via GPS within 1-2 miles match over 30 mile ride Ride time seemed to be off a little but not sure yet. I believe the ride time pauses if you stop mid ride. My old computer did not do that Heart rate accuracy is a function of the sending device but it was mostly on point Does not calculate calories burned. So I have to track that on Map My Ride app Other entertaining readings are grade incline positive value for uphill or negative value for downhill. Max and average values as well as a few other data points I don’t use. For the money you get a ton of information which has made my rides more informative and fun I did not want to have GPS turn by turn info so this was not an issue for me.

Excellent customer support
I bought this unit to replace an old, wired cyclometer that gave speed and distance and not much else. I wanted more information during a ride, especially cadence numbers, and the Cycplus does this for one-third to one-sixth the cost of Garmin or Wahoo units. The Cycplus has a large screen with big numbers, which is important for my aging eyes. The first unit I received was a dud; it couldn't get a GPS signal and so none of the features worked. Rather than return it to Amazon, I emailed Steven at Cycplus customer service. He responded to my email within a day and sent a replacement unit that arrived three days later. The new unit picks up a GPS signal just fine. Though I can't thoroughly test the replacement on the bike because of bad weather, I can give a five-star rating for customer support. I'll update this review after I have had a chance to ride with it and to try out speed/cadence sensors with the device. In response to other reviews: to set the wheel circumference, there is a chart on page 36 of the manual that gives the numbers you should enter based on the type of wheel your bike has. Use the number in the "mm" column. Update: I've had a chance to take the replacement unit out for rides. Without any sensors, the speedometer feature works pretty well. It can fluctuate a bit with the GPS signal, +/- 1 or 2 mph when it flicks but it seems to be okay most of the time. It worked OK even when I was climbing a hill at a slow speed (5-7mph). I purchased some Garmin v2 speed and cadence sensors to use with the unit. As mentioned in other reviews, I pair the sensors to the Cycplus unit one at a time and didn't run into any problems. With the speed sensor the speed reading fluctuates less. One issue is that with all the measurments - speed via GPS or sensor, cadence - there's a lag of about a second or two between the time you do something on the bike and the time it is reflected on the Cycplus display. That's just the nature of the way these things work, they need to measure you over time a bit in order to figure out how fast you're doing it. I tried out the smartphone app on a Google pixel phone. It was able to sync with the Cycplus unit and download the ride data without issue and display the ride data on my phone screen. The GPS route recorded by the Cycplus is of comparable accuracy as the same ride recorded via my phone GPS - sometimes one has a momentary glitch the other one does not, and vice-versa. The elevation gain also seems fairly consistent across rides. The smartphone app will also sync your ride data with Strava or TrainingPeaks (those are the only two apps supported), but I haven't tried this out. For my purposes of seeing data during a ride, and recording routes for later review, the Cycplus unit is working well so far.

Best bang for the buck but not the most accurate
I’ve used this unit for about one week, so far I like it overall quite a bit, it’s rather simple, each screen has the information you need, the three buttons are intuitive to use and you can go for a ver long bike ride without battery concerns. It’s a little slow to sync to my phone, but the app shows very useful data in both numeric and graphical form. Really nice if you want to analyze your data. The ANT+ works really, I connected my Garmin HRM and a cadence sensor in seconds, and you have the data in real time while riding. The only issue I’ve found so far is accuracy. The area where I live has lots of trees, that can affect its accuracy quite a bit, from my experience the distance is of by 5% - 10%. For the price you pay, this is a great bike speedometer.

budget price but features packed
I was looking for a budget price bike computer that can record power meter. CYCPLUS M1 is increatable cheap, but well-made with all features packed. I own the Garmin Edge 1030 (used on my stationary bike) and a XOOM G+ (used on my commute bike), M1 is a big upgrade from XOOM G+, I really like its big backlit screen that is highly visible even under direct sunlight. Its 2.9in high resolution screen even has more pixels per inch than 3.5in color LCD garmin 1030, so it can display tons of info on a single page: speed, cadence, heart rate, power, time, temperature, battery/satellite/blue/record status, LAP, ODO, and GRA. Pros: 1) its big screen can display more contents than 1030 on a single page. All letters are very readable due to its glare-free backlit tech used 2) its budget price is 10x cheaper than Garmin 1030. 3) Longer battery life, thanks for its backlit screen. Unlike my 1030 (20h battery time), CYCPLUS M1 has 30h battery hours and I have been using it for weeks without recharging. 4) Well made and well designed layout of display. Even with a lot of ride info displayed, the screen is not very busy to me. 5) Unlike other cheap GPS bike computer, M1 can display power meter info that is a must for me. Cons: Unlike garmin bike computer, MI doesn’t display real time gap map info. It is not a deal-breaker for me, since i don’t need a GPS map to ride locally. While training out of state, I use the google map on my cell anyway.

A flawed and incomplete tool.
Well, it does the essentials. Caveats: - the "now" speed fluctuates because is it instantaneous, so the random inaccuracy inherent in GPS is obvious. A 2- or 3-second average would be stable. - Phone bluetooth connects to the device but not to the app. - "now" gradient is useless and wrong. - "now" GPS altitude is reasonable accurate, and is not instantaneous. - display is not reconfigurable. - temperature is wrong -- 6-8 degrees F high. The thermocouple should have airflow so as not to reflect the case temp, and should be accurately calibrated at the factory. - UTC is shown on the clock, and "settings" does not offer time zones.

Great computer at a great price
There is so much to like about this bike computer: A large screen that allows you to see most information at the same time Ability to pair with ANT+ Sensors for speed, cadence, heart rate and power (this one was important to me as I put my bike on a stationary trainer in the winter) Easy to install and use The battery life seems like it is going to be great based on the time I have been using it Compatibiliy with easily available 1/4 turn mounts (Garmin style) The price There are, however, a few minor things I would change if I were able to: Make it more customizible as far as the data fields Allow the clock to be set to a 12 hour frmat rather than always being a 24 hour format Add the ability to toggle the backlight for when it is not needed (it is always on between certian hours) None of the items above are major for me though and I dont feel like there is an reason to take off any points. It is also cool that you can connect this up to an app to share your workouts in Strava. This is not something I personally see myself doing, but it is nice that the option is avaialble and maybe I'll start using it if I get more serious about tracking all of my rides. There is nothing even close to being this good at this price and I am happy with my decision. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a bike computer with some expanded capability that doesn't break the bank

Satisfied with this item
The computer does work. I did not buy any of the add-on sensors since all I wanted was something to track my distance and speed. I compared the mileage and average speed to another tracker and it was within 1% difference using the GPS tracking in this unit. I initially thought this computer was dead because I thought the buttons were the labels at the bottom of the screen and were capacitive/touch sensitive. I finally figured out the buttons were on the side, covered by the rubber housing and then it worked. The temperature sensor in this is useless. It was telling me the temperature was 80 degrees on a 60 degree day. The instruction manual is printed in something like 4 point font. I think I get it. Paper and ink are expensive. At least the instruction sheet has words and not just pictograms.

New Generation Cycplus M1
This is the second M1 I own. The first M1 was purchased back in 2020, which I had to replace solely because due to my neglect I didn't mount it securely and it fell off during bicycle ride. Previous version has micro-usb connector; worked flawlessly. Device would connect to the GPS within several seconds and update date&time. This second M1 has several upgrades. First, it now has USB-C connector. Then, it comes with rubber protective case. Lastly, the push buttons were upgraded and now easier to press. In terms of other features, there are no changes. Having M1 for 5 years I never experienced any issues with recording my rides, or connecting speed & cadence sensors.
