Yes it can, i have the vibration damper fitted also 👍You could get cheaper alternatives but its a neat set up and fitment options make it worth it. I run the USB off a 16A Thunderbox unit under my seat.

how waterproof is it? Can you use this item for extended period in the rain?

When you fit the charger, face the USB connector down, this will help stop the water penetrating, I have one fitted to my Triumph

what is the power source for this device (12v?) and what does the power cable to the device come with as terminals?

It's fitted to the 12V battery of my motorcycle. I can't remember the terminals - I got the Honda agent's workshop to fit it for me! I don't have sufficient electrical prowess!
