StarCraft Field Manual

This StarCraft Field Manual is a wonderfully designed "field manual." — DESIGN — Like the name suggests, this is designed to look like an actual book that's been out in the field. It is designed with wear, tear, and battle damage—even the dust cover looks old and used. There are "written notes" all around and even blacked out information like some declassified CIA manual. The inside is nicely organized with excellent layout and typography. About 80% of the book is the same: a profile of an infantry type/species/vehicle, done in a black and white line drawing art style, with a profile describing that unit's capabilities, with additional notes. The last 10% is dedicated to some concept art on how each unit compares in size to other units. — SUMMARY — This is not an Art Of book, but a gorgeous guide to the world of StarCraft. I can only wish for a book dedicated to concept art in the future. Recommended.

Wow wow. Buy this now for your Starcraft lover and give them months of entertainment. The artwork is beautiful, the descriptions are great, the hand written commentary is hilarious and it is very thorough. They will spend hours and hours and hours with this book. Every time they read it they will discover more.

I can appreciate a book based on a game that came out years before my son was born which he ends up enjoying as much as I did. This field manual is full of great art from elements of the game, and funny "notes" taken here and there from the perspective of the Terran Marines. Only wish they had more Queen of Blades information.

I am a big fan of StarCraft both 1 and 2. I love having this book and it is so cool to check out the drawings!

Got it as a gift for a new fan of the game and he's very happy with it. It digs into the lore through the perspective of a wisecracking marine. Neat!

This is written in a very fun voice, and is pretty neat for scaling if you're into art. All of the damage information is out of date, and was always going to be as it was an actively updated game. If Blizzard didn't suck so much, I'd say to buy one just to read through it as a fan, but alas.

I really love this art style, especially with Starcraft units

Absolutely fantastic piece of starcraft 2 collectible, that's for sure. I loved reading the witty destcriptions of each unit and especially the last part about the hierarchy of each in game faction was a blast to read through. Absolutely loving the fact that this book, that was initially obtainable only if you bought the very limited collectors edition of the game, was available for purchase separately. It's a high quality collectable item.
