Excellent light with excellent value
I purchased this light for a Waterbox Marine X 110.4 tank. The tank is running freshwater fish and this light provides ample light. I know there are lights out there that can cost $500 to $1000. I'm sure those lights are good but honestly they are not necessary. The money they charge in my humble opinion is excessive and a waste. I design LED circuits and I know what they should cost. Again just my 2 cents. This light does it all except Bluetooth control. This is minor since the schedule manages sun rise and sun set cycles. It even has multi color control. If you want to change the color or the brightness then yes you have get up off your butt and touch the light. It does get warm, but not uncomfortably warm when I put my hand on it. If you read the instructions it indicates below 120 is fine. The instructions for the light could be better but take your time read them closely and you will get it. If you want Alexa or Siri to do it for you, go buy the $1000 lights. These are pets there is supposed to be a personal touch. Any other issue I could manage to come up with is offset by the cost. If you want a light that does everything and requires no thinking then you will have to buy those very expensive lights. I have chosen not to so I can buy more fish. Remember they are fish, not clubbers at a latest singles hotspot. So imitating day night cycle is the goal. This light has been up and running since June 2021 and there have been zero issues. By the way I have a Hygger pump and temperature control too. All working fine. I did not use the stands that came with this light. See this review, had to make a part to hold it but easy enough to do. https://www.amazon.com/review/R1Z58LZOB5Q1JW/ref=pe_1098610_137716200_cm_rv_eml_rv0_rv Feb 2025 Update, it failed, not a bad light but lasted just under 4 years.

The Hygger Aquarium Programmable LED Light for 48~55in Long Full Spectrum Plant Fish Tank Light has been nothing short of a revelation for my aquarium. It checks all the boxes for what I wanted in a lighting system: full spectrum, sleek design, minimal heat emission, and set-and-forget convenience. This product deserves a 5-star rating for its remarkable impact on my aquatic plants and aquarium maintenance routine. One of the standout features of this LED light is its full-spectrum illumination. It provides a balanced and natural light that has profoundly affected the health and growth of my aquatic plants. The plants thrive under this light, and their vibrant colors and increased growth are a testament to their effectiveness. This light is designed with the needs of aquatic plants in mind. The slim and streamlined design of the light is both aesthetically pleasing and practical. It doesn't overwhelm the look of my aquarium and blends seamlessly with the overall setup. One of the most significant advantages of this light is its programmable timer. Once set, I can practically forget about adjusting the lighting schedule. Will grow plants quite well
57 days between my two photos. This is a 75gal (48"). I have two of the "957" models over the tank with CO2 injection. I also implement estimative index fertilization method. The substrate is mostly aqua soil. The plant growth has been explosive! No doubt these lights are capable of growing plants- even more demanding plants such as glossostigma have grown no issues. Only con is that you cannot change the levels of each color channel independently. That would be a nice feature. Also no app compatibility, which at this price point is to be expected. TL/DR: grows plants, woul recommend. Less features but same capability of higher priced fixtures.

Very bright
Overall I am very pleased with this light but initially I found it difficult to program. I really like the timer feature which is right on the top of the unit and easy to get at. I bought this for a tank holding an aquatic turtle so my needs might be a little different then for the typical tropical fish aquarium. As I said, it is very bright when set on 100. So much so that my turtle freaked out and dove for the bottom of the tank and tried to burrow under a rock. I initially used the auto set up that pretty much lights dawn to dusk and has a moonlight (bluelight) feature. My turtle was either freaked out or fascinated by the blue light. I sure wish he could talk to figure out which it was! I finally decided to use the manual setting that was a bit complicated for my 70+ year mind and eyes. It turns out there are 8 settings that all have to be set even it is only to be set on off which is designated as 00. There is no way of telling how bright the light might be at any setting without setting all 8 and then watching each stage as it comes on. Also it is easy to accidentally set a stage for AM instead of PM. I haven't experienced a power outage since setting it up, so I have no idea if it will hold it's settings if the power goes off. On the plus side it is capable of having blue, red and green light at different times, so I would imagine that would be very pretty with a fish filled aquarium. My crotchety 40 year old turtle didn't seem to be impressed by the light show! All in all I think this is a great product in the proper application.

Plants LOVE this light. Easy to setup. Bright white..
I bought this strip in January 2021 for a dart frog vivarium. Setting it up was breeze as all that is needed is plug it in set your local time and that's it. Some how I inadvertently switched the "moonlight" from nice blue to unpleasant red. The instructions did not come across as clear as I would have liked. Even online videos were no help. Finally I was able to get it back to the original blue. The light will not default to factory settings by unplugging it from the power which I feel there should be some way to enable that feature by the manufacturer. The strip is a pretty good light. It has a bright spectrum that the plants really thrive by. In the morning the "daylight" will come on at 6:30am as a soft dim light gradually getting brighter for full white spectrum for daylight. At 6:30pm it fades off then immediately segway into the blue. At 11:30pm the blue will dim until the light turns off. There are other colors to choose from a light green, a yellow, a light blue, and more. Somehow I managed to get the light to cycle all of the colors with an automatic feature. I think the color-cycle feature would look nice for a terrerium setting but with animals probably not. I've attach several photos to demonstrate the brightness. The blue does not photograph well as it looks like a big blue mess.

The default programming takes over at a whim and never follows the settings. Save your money!!
I seldom review purchases because of the time consumption it takes, however... this is the worst purchase I have made. I cannot give less than 1 star or I would do so! The light never follows the programming for more than 3 hours before it resorts to factory settings. The factory settings are full spectrum in a 100% setting and that is bright enough to light up my entire front room. I have gotten extremely frustrated with the light to the point, that I now unplug it before bed in order to avoid the 3 am brightness that looks as though the sun is in my tank. I have a Masters, so reading the instructions and going through the programming isn’t the issue, it’s the illogical default that takes over at a whim based on its own desires. Do not purchase this light unless you want to feel as though a ghost is undoing all your daily efforts in the programming and re-programming that this light constantly needs or perhaps you actually want your fish to feel as though it’s noon and the sun will never set.

Works Great Until It Doesn't
I've been using this light on my aquarium for over 9 months now and it worked great... until it didn't. About 2 weeks ago the light started strobing when it was supposed to be transitioning for dawn and dusk. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the issue but have not had any luck. Next step is to contact the manufacturer since it is still under the 1 year warranty period. Overall, there were several things I liked about the light and a few things I didn't. The Pros: 1. Automatic switch from day to night lighting with a transition period. Anyone who has an aquarium knows how much of a pain it is to remember to turn the lights on and off at the same time every day, and with traditional lights there is not a transition. The lights are either on or off. With this light the built in timer does all of that for you. It's kind of liberating... 2. Adjustable brightness for your daytime and night time lights. You can set the brightness of your day and night lights to what works best for you and your fish. 3. Water resistant casing. It seems like every time I clean my aquarium water gets splashed on the light fixture. It's important to know your investment isn't going to fry when that happens. The Cons: 1. Setting the timer and light brightness can be confusing. I read through the instructions, but even then, had to play around a little bit to get to all the functions I wanted to adjust for my aquarium. 2. The position of the light button is inconvenient at best. Every time I did anything anywhere near that button the lights changed and I had to scroll through all of the light colors to get back to where it was supposed to be. 3. Even with my timer set, the daytime lights would go off about an hour before it was supposed to and the fish would be left in the dark for longer until the night light came on. I could never figure out what was happening so I just ended up adjusting my night light to come on earlier. 4. Lights started flashing within the first 9 months of use. This one wasn't a problem until recently and I don't know what caused it to start happening. This may be a unique problem to me, but it was severe enough that I removed the light from my aquarium and went to my back up lights. I've done a lot of troubleshooting on my own and couldn't figure out what was going on and how to fix it or what caused it. Since it is still supposedly under warranty I am going to contact the manufacturer next to see what they can do to help me. **UPDATE** I was able to contact Hygger customer service who let me know the flashing was due to a failed power supply. Because the light was still under warranty, they shipped me a new power supply free of charge and the light is working the way it is supposed to again. Hopefully this new power supply lasts more than 8 months.

Setup
Easiest programmable light ever. Just plug in set the time. I had one that you had to go through step after step and heaven forbid the electricity go out- your going to start all over. Needless to say, it turned on and off at all weird hours. This was exactly what I wanted. You can't beat digital timers vs "buttons".

Power interruption
This is good powerful aquarium light for plant growth. However, when there is a power interruption all setting go back to default/ factory settings and you need to reprogram the whole thing again. A simple battery backup within the system would have solved this issue but unfortunately…. This a drawback on the system.
