Nothing special
Not much more than Top Trumps to be honest. Interesting historical facts on the cards so we all learnt things though.

Too gruesome for young children
This card game is certainly not suitable for age 6+ as recommended on the packaging. My granddaughters are big fans of Horrible Histories , however the youngest is now having nightmares! Roman emperors stabbing people to death with red hot pokers when not steaming their wives to death or having their slaves eaten alive by rats; she wouldn’t let me take it to a charity shop in case it frightens other children so it has gone in the paper waste!

Not appropriate
The age for this game is 6+ so i picked it up for my 7 year old. It's way too gruesome, we're not squeamish at all but I just don't think it's necessary for my 7 year old to be reading about boiling people alive and serial killers (illustrated with what is clearly a bloody head in a sack). Please tread carefully with younger kids, the age recommendation needs addressing urgently. We won't be playing with these, we'll stick with good old top trumps.
