CH Hanson 03040 Magnetic Stud Finder - 2 Pack

I initially purchased these when my wife and I bought our first home and they worked so well that I gave the 2nd one to another family member and bought more for the rest of my family. They have never failed to be right on the money for finding a stud and I love how compact they are, they are great to fit in a toolbox. The magnet is strong and this has to be the best stud finder that I have ever had.

The absolutely greatest thing since sliced bread ~ No Lie. I've looked several times at the big box stores trying to find these magnetic stud finders, only to come up empty handed. Big Box stores are more than happy to sell you digital $50 dollar stud finders all day long, but a tried and true magnetic, they are unwilling to carry. That's where Amazon comes in! I've had one for several years, and it works great. I feel like no magnetism has been lost over the year, but I have misplaced it more times than I care to count. Found this (2) pack on Amazon and had to take advantage. Pro's (Over Several Years) 1) I use these in conjunction with a digital stud finder. I use the magnetic to quickly find a screw/nail then use the digital to map the stud itself. 2) Can be used on the ceiling without worry of it falling. 3) Magnets are incredibly strong, even after years of use. $) Small level is nice, although, I rarely use it for this function. Con's: NONE, Period. I think everyone needs to own one (or several) of these stud finders. They are absolutely great! I ended up gifting one of these to a coworker.

Works great! Fast! I had purchased something like this years ago when I was single and living alone, and figuring out which tools I needed to have in my tool box. I used it to find the studs when hanging heavy pictures on the wall. I have since remarried. In the meantime I misplaced the older set of studfinder disks during our recent move. My new 60+ yr old husband, the architect, was trying to hang a heavy pot rack from our ceiling and couldn't find whatever tool he used to find studs but couldn't locate it. I bought him this set of studfinders. It got here almost overnight and he was pleasantly amazed at how well it works. He loves it! The studs were instantly found and the pot rack hung in a few minutes. He wishes he had gotten these many years ago. You CAN teach an "old dog" new tricks!

I bought one of those made in china electic stud finders. It is so finnicky that I was getting confusing readings all over the place. Meaning I was still having trouble finding studs. I needed to go back to basics to mount my TV and decided to just stick with these magnets. Pretty pricey for simple magnets. But it works quickly and easily. Move the magnet around and you will find magnet points where the stud finder just sticks to the wall. If you're not sure if it's a screw or could be something else. Move up and down... if you're hitting single magnetic spots in a fairly straight line up and down, you found the stud. If it's a congtinuous magnetic line, it's something else. Now be doubly sure. 99.9% of studs are 16" or 24" apart. so find the next stud over and measure. If it's 16"/24" you know for sure you found the studs. Some other tips... outlets are screwed on one side to a stud. So if you have an outlet you have a stud there as well. The rotating level is a pretty nifty feature as well, but doesn't work perfectly since you're almost always using it with something metal, and the magnet is so strong. Still useful though. Overall, pricey, but very worth it for something fairly foolproof that is easy to use and will last a lifetime.

These have worked great for me they are compact and easy to use I had one like 10 yrs and lost it and then I got this pair and I still highly recommend them

Not normally one to leave a review but I have to say this item is amazing and let people know they actually work great! It worked exactly for what I needed when hanging my Tv on my wall. I have plaster and lath walls so finding a stud is not easy. These little gadgets (used 2) located the nails from the lath being attached to my studs very easily and even held on the wall the entire time I needed to with strong magnification. Helped mount my 75” tv with ease! Saved me a huge headache from using other methods or paying someone to do it. Highly recommend this product for those who need it.

Small, powerful magnet. Very good at finding where nails/screws are driven into studs behind drywall.

Worked on textured drywall. Follow the instructions and move in a 'S' pattern to find nails in studs. Do it several places left and right also high and low. Once you feel the magnet grab hold, you can let go and it will hang there. Then you can make your location marks.

Best stud finder out there. Even use it to find buried hvac/dryer vents, highly recommend!

Love, love, love this little handy gadget. So much guicker and easier to use than electronic stud finders. Move in a “S” formation on your wall until the magnet sticks to the stud nail. Put in your pocket or tool belt. Level is handy too! If you do not have one - you need one😁
